For the beams that hold up the dock to the airship in Bastok, should I go easy route and use raw wood posts or tedious route and use fence posts that may look too skinny?
I prefer the look of raw wood posts for docks, especially Pine.
Probably gonna be hard to word this right...
How much room is there per server? Having a lot of people trying to build stuff, it would seem like there would be heavy restrictions on space/size aside from the obvious cooperation required for any coexistence.
and here's something I've started to work on on my own. Really hard getting proportions right, and a lot of the dimensions are guess work. Just hope everything will end up fine because there's a lot of different levels to add.
25 internet cookies to whoever has the imagination to figure out what I'm trying to recreate!
(most everything except the cobblestone structure isn't apart of it)
Spoiler: show
I give up, IDK what it is, But i want too. TELL ME, PM me if you have too

Explains why i didnt know. I've never played that.
At first the one part to the right kinda looked like the bridge from the opening of Dragon Age: Origins, but then i was like, No the rest of the building doesnt look like it...
Argh. Really need a block that conducts redstone signals. Been trying to design piston-based devices, and having to make them like four times bigger than I want to because of redstone circuit physical limitations.
For the non-Notch twitter followers:
This pleases me. Especially the idea of a new lighting engine. i hate hate HATE having to light my entire minecraft life with stupid little torches.Trickling information about the Adventure Update
Since 1.8 is still a significant time away, we’re going to have to stop being as secretive about it as we have. We’ll provide information about it as we go, but we’ll keep actual details secret. So, for example, we could say “added two new colors” without saying which ones, or “testing experience and leveling to see if it’s fun” without giving details on exactly how it works.
The update is pretty big, and will change a lot of how Minecraft is played, focusing on making exploration and combat much more rewarding, and bringing in a bigger sense of adventure to the game.
Already implemented are new complex terrain features, at least one new mob, some interesting new combat mechanics, a new lighting engine, and some experimental new gameplay ideas. To come is more interesting farming, bigger incentives to explore, and npc villages.
npc villages!
Sounds like 1.8 is the last bit of content we'll see til after release at leastThe adventure update will take however long it takes, and will be released as 1.8. It might be a long wait, but it will be worth it!
After 1.8, we’ll have to start crunching for the full release in November. That includes finishing up the mod api, improving stability and performance, adding supporting features like friends lists and a proper server browser, integrating singleplayer and multiplayer, and most importantly fleshing out the gameplay.
The release date is almost certainly changed to sometime the week after 11/11/11, and we’re working hard on setting that up. We want to make a big spectacle out of the release where we involve fans and celebrate it properly.
Then we’ll rest for a few weeks. Then I’ll start working on the first post-release update. :D
yes!
I got to the part near the beginning with the multi-level wooden stair... jesus christ it's a nightmare doing it. I've died like 6 times falling so far and I'm starting to get a bit worried I'm going to run out of vertical room. I should have started at a way lower altitude. If worse comes to worse maybe I'll just through in an extra staircase that heads down a few levels later on.
I really don't know how people like you can stand building large structures like that. Takes fucking forever just to build up the foundation, even if it's hollow inside.
Not sure it will help Souj, but holding shift key down ensures that you can never fall off an edge. You move slower, but it quite helps when you are building at higher levels.
EDIT: Now that I am on PC and not Tapatalk, just wanted to say that that is looking badass Souj! Looks spot on so far! I see Miralda's room! AHHHHH
I haven't really played Minecraft since Terraria was released, but I think the Adventure Update may change that.Originally Posted by Notch
I am in the same exact boat. Not for lack of interest per se, my list of things to do is still vast and growing, but Terraria is the go to game for me right now. It is beating out all kinds of competition, Child of Eden (just got from Gamefly and it is pretty damned cool so far), Eden Eternal, Spiral Knights, and on and on. Terraria is what I just keep coming back to.
The changes though, the changes... I am pretty excited. I will likely update and mess about with Pistons, make the oh so must-have secret mountain wall door entrance, and then it will go back on the shelf for a bit until I hear more details about the Adventure(time) Update.
