Official BG Minecraft Server Thread

Okay, so got a question(s)

I downloaded a copy of Minecraft from a torrent to see if I liked it. I've decided to buy it, but I have also built something I don't want to lose.
If I buy a legit copy, am I going to lose my world save data?
and/or Can I just pull my save data out right now, get legit copy then shove my save data back into the new file. And what is the program's file name? I can't find it on my computer.

You're fine, just buy it and run the legit file instead of the pirated one, it all pulls from the same save files, the pirated one just makes the login process think the minecraft server is down, so it skips verification/updates.

Some 1.8 Screenshots showcasing what looks like a new block type (The "gray" Brick, and the "Gray" mossy brick), What looks like an "underground Ruins" Type area (the same picture as the bricks)

and some SS's of NPC villages and Giant Mushrooms.

actually really exciting to see. I'm going to love exploring when these things are introduced, I'll probably be playing single player a lot more since i don't think these will generate on the BG map?

Edit: If you look at the picture showcasing the new Blocks ("Ruins") If you slightly to the right of the Center, It kinda looks like theres a Metal Gate...

Oh god, I am starting to get my hopes up now. Thank god notch has finally gotten off his ass and started on this lol

I really hope our existing worlds are compatible with the adventure update. I really don't want to have to start a new world just to see some NPC villages and new blocks/terrain, Id still like to be able to just go far away in the nether and pop out in a new chunk.

You can clearly see the normal Grey block, the Mossy Block, and the "Cracked" Block. I'm actually a fan of building desolate "Rubble" villages. I always pictured minecraft post-apocalyptic (Zombies, Only human etc). So i sometimes build broken down villages/cities.

This will make it easier.

Thanks. Still so much more to go lol. The stairs take forever not looking forward to still having the tall spiral staircase on the right side to do.

And I bought Minecraft. Any chance I could get the bluegartr server number? I wont be on it too much atm, given my current project, but I'll hop on a mess around when I'm feeling to lazy to do the demon's souls castle thing.

Has Notch ever mentioned any intentions of using that "better grass" mod (puts grass texture on the sides of one-block-high dirt slopes) since the guy who made it appears to have abandoned it. It's like the only mod I actually care about because it makes the landscape look so much nicer.

I tried it once and I didn't really like it. Didn't the same guy that made better lighting make better grass? I think that if he was going to incorporate better grass, he would have done it when he brought in lighting.

Yeah, I just know the guy abandoned it because it got bundled in with some other mod pack and then better lighting became pointless. I couldn't find any word on a working version of it anymore...

I was curious after he said that and tried out mine2. Looks like it just redirects you to mine.bluegartr.com, so it should work regardless.
