I tell you what though. The mines making getting ore easy as hell. I don't think I have to worry about Iron or Coal ever again.

I'm kinda disappointed though. I was hoping they would be more uniform and have a clear start and end with an area where there is loot. But its all a completely random maze of evil.

Also, because my video card freaked out I found out there was a mine below my base. All those torches are natural. I havent been down there yet.

cant wait to explore these new areas beyond what we've explored on the server will be great to edit my base with the new blocks and moss.

The world I`ve been playing around in survival mode, I`ve just found some pretty neat features. I found a NPC village very close to the start, so I settled it and have been mining a little cave under a nearby mountain. The actual mountain tho.. any suggestions on what to do with it? The hole in it goes through to the other side, into the pine forest/plains. Can see the other side of the mountain in the 2nd map pic.

You should be able to raise the chunk height in this release right? I'm curious what the terrain generator would do with the extra space if you cranked it from 128 to 512.

I'm jealous of your land there Lurka. I'd probably build some sort of sandstone castle hanging out of that hole and out on the other side as a more traditional castle. o -o)a Actually I think the area down there by the lake and other mountain looks really nice for building.

Oh... oh my... by the gods, I think I found the most incredible seed and area yet in 1.8!

BEHOLD!

The mountains!

The deserts behind it! (with bonus village!)

The nearby hills!

And the coordinates are X: 1500 and Z: 1000

I think I found a new home for my singleplayer :D

It's possible to setup a 1.8 Server, just need the server .jar and then you run it (I think)
