    That.

If someone on the street gives you a penny, it's nothing, fucking worthless.
If every person in America gave you a penny, you'd have three million dollars.

People follow your viewpoint, and ain't no pennies gonna be movin' at all.

    A reason to be a jehovah's whitness?
    Religious view

Jehovah's Witnesses, Old Order Amish, Christadelphians, Rastafarians and other religious groups share a religious tradition of not participating in politics through voting.[4]
even that is not good enough ^ is from wiki on voting

I don't like any of the candidates running here in NY so I won't be voting.

I won't be voting for any offices above the local levels.

I'll leave all the voting for offices that won't matter to those who still believe it makes a difference. Too much corruption and corporate control at the federal level for me to believe that it makes any difference who's in office and who isn't. I mean seriously, has anything really changed that much in the last 20 years?

i knew in my heart cream was an idiot but i wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt due to the many lulz on the boards directly involving him. This now solidifies the fact and sadly too many of your american's follow the same path.

your country has less voters per capita then afghanistan which i find quite scary, the majority of americans lay on there back and are guided blindly by their don't give a fuck about anything attitude "ameruca is teh bst"

hasn't been in a long time and probably wont be for a long time if ever again

I vote in every contest that's up, but by god are the local ones damn near impossible to get straight info on.

Don't know why some people are getting Butthurt over people not voting. I'd argue that too many people vote.

Its the get out to vote campaigns that tend to bring the lowest common denominator to the voting booth left and right.

Living in LA I could see that being a problem. I live in a smaller college town population about 175,000 in the metro, so it's much easier because I probably know people who personally know most of the candidates - my family has been here, both sides, for about 50 years.

I don't complain either (for those of you who will say If you dont' vote don't complain)

A couple of hundred of votes isn't 1 vote. My vote is = 1, not 100+, so makes no difference there. Most people will say "If everyone who said that voted..." that is irrelevant. Because even if I vote, those other people still won't. Their voting isn't based on whether or not I vote, so in the end, it's still just 1 vote. If I were to go volunteer and encourage others to vote for x candidate(not that I ever would), now that could make a difference, but even then, me actually going in to vote won't make a diff there, either.
You never know how you going to vote affects other people. Someone could hear you're going to vote and decide to go themselves, or someone could see you walking into a polling station and decide they're going to vote too. The point is, it's never just 1 person who thinks their vote doesn't count but votes anyway.

Florida elections are important. It's the 4th largest state in the union and with 25 electoral votes it's an important battleground for both the presidential election and key issues. Do you remember the election in 2000? Bush won the entire national election by carrying Florida with only a few hundred votes and completely changed the world. This year in Florida alone are two very important and very close races, for the Governor and the Senate.

If you think your vote is insignificant then the solution isn't to stay home, it's to at least mention to others that you're going to vote in the hopes that they do too. To say your vote doesn't matter is to say that your own opinion doesn't matter either.

And again, this has already been addressed. If I go vote, it does not mean those other, cumulative people will. So it's still just that 1 vote.

People follow your viewpoint, and ain't no pennies gonna be movin' at all.
People don't follow "my" viewpoint, they will do their own thing.

For example, you guys calling me idiots. See, my viewpoint did not influence you guys in any way. It's the same thing. My not voting, has no effect on anyone else's decision whether or not to vote.

I don't stay home. I'm hardly ever home, lol. I probably pass 10 polling stations on the way to school every day, haha. As for mentioning voting, even if that did "make a difference", which it wouldn't, but if it did, I could still do that without actually having to vote.

And again, I think all of the candidates are equally bad.

Then why not just stop in and push a few buttons? In the time it has taken you to talk about why you don't vote you could have voted and had enough time left over to rub one out afterward.

The fact of the matter is there are candidates in FL whose entire electoral strategy is banking on most black voters being as stubborn and obstinate as you are. Do you really want to give them the satisfaction?

It makes no difference whatsoever to me, whether or not they are satisfied.

Again, even if I did care about any of the candidates, it still doesn't amount to shit

Keyword there being "even if I did care about any of the candidates"

I don't like any of them, and think they are all crooked to an equal degree.

I'll be at the polls Tuesday. NY has a shitty governor right now, money's being spent like shit and then this asshole teaparty dude Carl Palladino wants to run with his backwards assed thinking. Fuck that. Cuomo's more or less a shoe-in but I'm doing my part anyway.

Also had a local state assemblyman going door to door talking to people and when he came to my house and talked to me, I told him it meant a lot to me. Read up on him and he was pretty legit for the most part so I wanna show him my support.

I can be pretty narcissistic but I still make it a priority to understand how things will potentially affect me and atleast make an attempt to influence it.

Also rent's too damn high, for real.

This is where your point breaks down. The fact that you think they are equally bad shows you don't know anything about ether member and just say they suck because they are running. The only way they could be equal to you is if you 100% agree with BOTH sides of the big issues, which is impossible.

You are ether for or against healthcare, for/against abortions, for/against raising taxes on the top 1%, for/against stopping tax breaks for company. These are issues they are running on. One side is for all these things, one against it. Which side are you on?

But yet you're the first one to ask for things like food stamps and other kinds of welfare when in a pinch? You DO realize where that is coming from don't you? You won't vote, but you'll leech of the system and the people no problems asked? Makes a lot of sense. I see it every day where I work. Guess what? They government doesn't have to supply you with that help.

I don't believe I've ever asked for welfare, lol.

They government doesn't have to supply you with that help.
And they don't. I was denied for foodstamps. And no, I'm not going to go vote based on "Who is more likely to give me food stamps" so I don't see where this is relevant at all. I do fine on my ramen noodles. When I applied it was "If I get them, cool. If not, oh well". Not "This country needs to be supporting me and give me my god damn food stamps!"
