All those studies trying to compare alcohol to drugs are ultimately silly.

- For most of us, alcohol isn't addictive.
I can go months without a drink, no signs of withdrawal whatsoever. Same goes for most of the world's population.

- The study itself points out that the results are due to the widespread usage of alcohol compared to illicit drugs... then seemingly forgets it in the conclusion.
Think drink-driving is bad? Wait for widespread LSD-driving.
Think binge-drinking is bad? Wait for widespread binge-snorting.
And so on...


That said, marijuana is probably less harmful than alcohol.
But given that the average marijuana user is an insufferable vegan teen, gimme that Whisky.

Same with ecstasy. It's nearly impossible to die from the substance itself, more so from either dehydration or flooding your brain. Obviously you could argue, "well it's nearly impossible to die from the intake of alcohol", but the difference is, when you're filled with ecstasy you're more likely to want to dance (stereotype) and talk with your mates than attempt to drive, beat someone up or grope a girl....

Comparing MDMA to LSD is full Trig Palin-mode. E has a mile-long list of side effects, potentially fatal effects from abuse. LSD has... chance of HPPD, and that's about it. Not saying that it's impossible to use responsibly, but it's several magnitudes more dangerous than most psychedelics.

I used to get a blurry chunk of my visual field when I'd go a while without smoking in the year or two after I did LSD on Halloween, then blaze some really nice shit while wandering around town. Like a backwards L on the righthand bottom corner of my vision, kinda like someone smudged something on a TV screen. Started staring at it one time on an overcast day, and turned to look at a pine tree which started climbing into the clouds... fell on my ass.

I never took LSD or any drug but even I get visual hallucinations. =D

Mine consist of weird glowing blue dots, though sometimes they appear other colors. They don't show up often, and when they do it's just one dot at a time, but they look almost like pinpricks of light, like someone is shining a blue light through a pinhole in a black sheet of paper. Weird thing is, they move like dust motes, randomly and seemingly 3D, and glow in the dark. Occasionally they appear other colors, sometimes yellowish, and in extremely rare cases red, purple, or green. <.<

I've seen them for many years, and they're something I rarely notice unless I actually look out for them, except for the rare times when they float directly in front of my face. The amount of light in the room doesn't affect things either, even pitch blackness I can see them, so my original theory of pieces of glitter or shiny particles floating in the room and catching the light was disproved.

I just like to pretend they're earth's version of pyreflies, just malnourished at the moment. :O

and salvia is nuts. only actually tripped off of it once and I didn't go far enough to lose touch with reality but it was still fucking awesome. not something I would do a lot though, it felt really harsh... hard to explain, but even after tripping like crazy and really enjoying myself, I didn't feel like repeating it once I came down a few minutes later.
