    http://archeagescandinavia.se/skillcalc.html Working skill calculator.

I'm really scared about this class system, it looks cool on paper but in reality it might end up being as big of a disaster as Rifts was. I'm really hoping it's not that horribly done, and actually fun with lots of different specs(rift had like 1 spec per class when I played.. so much for 30+ classes). A shame about the combat being non-action and looking horrible, but the skill system and sandbox like nature of the game could make up for that ;D

Trion is publishing AA, so I pray that they don't westernize the crap out of the game and just leave it alone..lol

Also the first Heroic World boss was finally killed on Jan.29th. The bosses name is Antalrone, he is a Necromancer. It took 30 mins with 100 players, with 10 tanks and siege weapons to defeat him.

Here is a really bad recording of the event.

I am sure Trion will adjust the drop rates, when they westernize the game, but you got to understand that this is an old school hard core Asian game. This isn't WOW, there are no tiers, raids or dungeons that drop purples all day long. Gear comes from crafting or world boss drops. You can get gear from low lvl instance dungeons, or quests, but you can't repair them. You can only repair crafted or world boss gear.

Anyone remembers killing Fafnir in FFXI and not getting anything good ?..lol

Anyways here is a lvl 40 world boss. Even the lvl 40 ones are hard.

I wouldn't be too sure of them westernizing it too much. They like to pander to their hardcores if Rift's gaps between raiders and other activities are any indication.

It's gonna be interesting to see what Trion actually does with this game. On the one hand you got Jake Song, who is a egotistical perfectionist. He would be seriously pissed if Trion did anything to change his baby.

But on the other hand if Trion doesn't westernize the game, tons of WOW/Rift fans will be in for a rude awakening.

After a week of gathering up enough mats to build a ship, James (Elrar the head CM of Rift) built his first ship. He then set sail over the ocean. But to his horrible luck he ran strait into the Kraken world boss, and the boss crushed his ship in two. The tears were rolling down my cheek laughing..lol

If anyone wants to see what the Heroic World Kracken Boss looks like, here are some vids.

This video shows Steparu building his house. As you can see everything in this town is player built from his guild.

After they built their town, Steparu and friends started building a boat.

The scary thing is I remember this video on MTV...lol

ATM AA is doing seasonal events. The first event is the New Years event, as it was Korea New Years yesterday. They handed out Hanbok (Traditional Korean) costumes and traditional Korean food and have fireworks at night.

The other event going on is the Valentines Event. Crafters can get their hands on building a Love Swan boat, making chocolates and love style fireworks.

For those that don't know, ArcheAge doesn't have any pre-set dance moves. You have to create the moves yourself by doing a mini-game. Where you must click the right button at the right time and combine the Moves per Button. So in this game you create your own dance moves.

    Death Penalty in ArcheAge

-From lvl 1-9 there is no Death Penalty. But starting at lvl 10 the player will incur a 5% xp loss of total lvl in PVE if they die. (It's fairly similar to FFXI COP) But if you use your Labour Points you can get almost 90% of your xp loss back.

-You don't lose any xp if you die via PVP. But after lvl 30 if you go around ganking other players and get high crime points, when you die you will respawn in enemy territory.

-You can bind yourself at Inn's in cites or towns, or bind yourself at your house. But it works like Hearthstone system from WOW. You can teleport back to them every 30 mins.

-Dying also speeds up your Item decay, but they don't break. So an item can reach 0, and needs to be repaired, but it won't break and become useless.

    Item Decay

-ArcheAge has Item Decay, but items don't break. Armor and weapons decay very slowly, but they are not dmg based. It's more death based than anything. So Tanks don't have to worry about having a huge price tag.

-If you don't die very often, you can easily go 3-4 weeks without having to repair gear.

-Questing gear cannot be repaired. But XL games has recently changed that you can repair instance gear. But they now have horrible stats. Crafted gear gives you the best stats and the best durability.

-If you want to repair gear, you need to get crafted items from a crafter (or buy it on the AH) and then bring them to a blacksmith NPC and he will repair your gear for a fee.

    Labor System

-Labor Points / Power is a third point pool like health and manna. But it is not required for PvP or other combats. Labor points are required for most non-combat activities. It is the main resource required for gathering harvests, planting trees, building houses, ships, crating, and many more. It is impossible to create something without it.

-Labor points are required almost everywhere. But the more difficult the task is the more points you will have to spend. For example it will not cost you a lot to gather apples from a tree. But if you want to build a house or ship you will have to spend a huge amount of points. It is fair because the amount of real labor is different. That’s why top level objects are difficult to create. Such objects require a lot of resources and labor.

-Labor is account wide, so yea you can't make a crafter alt in the game. But players can trade, buy/sell their labor points. Clans can pool their Labor points together to help out their crating brothers. I mean someone in your clan has to build those warships and siege weapons..lol

-Also, high-level users can use their labor power in more luxurious activities (such as going to a dance party) and also purchase the labor power of lower level users for crafting. You can also use Labor points to get your xp back when you die. So, with such a labor system, you can actually run a corporation. Pay people daily to work for you, and you get all your projects finished fast and rip the benefits, while the users get the money they need stably each day.

Yea basically, but the Labor system is only for Labor schools.

i.e. Crafting, Harvesting, Gathering, Farming, Animal Raising, Merchants..... Basically if your create something it uses Labor Points. Fighting schools don't use Labor points, but they still have them.

Labor points are account wide so you can't make a crafter/gather alt in ArcheAge.

But you can buy/sell or trade your Labor points. So it becomes a valuable resource.

i.e If your a Tank, you can sell your Labor points to a crafter for mats to repair your gear. A farmer could buy up Labor points from other players to harvest their plants. Or everyone in the guild can share their Labor points with crafters/harvesters... in the guild. So everyone in the guild can have the top gear.

Xl games put this system in place, to stop people from flooding the market, stop the botters from farming resources non-stop thus de-flating the economy, or stop Idiots from chopping down forests, so nobody can use the wood for crafting..lol

So it keeps crafting/harvesting/gathering as the most valuable way to make money. The Koreans seem to like it. But I am sure when NA players see this system they might freek out.
