The new roadmap has been posted here

    http://www.archeage.com/mboards/inside/2036?page=1

    The Basics

    - Siege System will be expanded to have more systems.

    - Xl games will be adding in instanced Battle Grounds(there will be 3 of them with one of the BG's being a Ship to Ship PVP BG).

    - There will be a new ranking system for Arenas and the New BG's.

    - Adding a new 5 man instance PVE dungeon for lvl 45+ players called "Land of the Bones".

    - Adding a new underwater ocean dungeon called "Lair of the Leviathan".

    - Expand Fishing and adding Fishing boats.

    - Adding more steampunk features like adding cars.

    - Will be able to open PVP in neutral zones.

    - Expand Player made factions.

    - Expand Nation building.

Official Video on the new expanded Fishing and shows the new Fishing Boat.

Official Video on the new Expanded Siege system(More of a Hype video)

When your guild owns land on the Northern continent will be given special daily coins called "Coins of the Lord". The Guild leader can exchange them for items for guild mates or he can purchase the "Emperors Armor"(you are a emperor of the lands right ?) and the special Fire Horse. The longer your guild can hold lands the more coins you get.

Good info Bombur, keep it coming! Majority of the information out there is in German or Korean(obviously). Really looking forward to this game, and it's good to have some news in English every once in awhile, especially with the giant patch notes they tend to put out. Hopefully TRION doesn't keep us waiting too long.

Trion needs to be the one promoting their game though, not Bombur alone in one tiny corner of the internet!

The siege system is sorta phased. An invisible wall goes up around the defending castle and only the attacking and defending guild can participate. Other players can watch, but if you try and enter inside the wall you will just get ported to the nearest re-spawn point.

Currently the system is 50 vs 50, but the siege system will be expanded on Apr.24th. The new system will be....

    Defending Guild

    - Can have up to 80 participating guild members, and then the defending guild can hire up to 20 mercenary players to help with the defense.

    - For siege purposes, mercenaries can die up to 10 times before being removed form the siege. Guild members can die as much as they want, as long as the re-spawn portal isn't destroyed.

    Attacking guild

    - Can have up to 70 participating guild members, then the attacking guild can get up to 30 unpaid volunteer players.

    - After 30 mins into the siege you can buy even more reinforcements.

Thanks for the quote, yea I've noticed that English info is really scarce. You either have Fido who is German and posts his German blogs on AA. He also posts his youtube videos http://www.youtube.com/user/bcofido?feature=watch.

The other AA poster is Garo, who is Russian and posts his blogs in Russian. Llexx translates his work into English and posts the guides on AA source. You can check them out here http://archeagesource.com/forum/17-new-articles-guides/.

DimmerMeerkat (He's Isceroth) posts a AA blog on MachinimaRealm, and Dengar posts tons of AA stuff on Massivley. Elrar from Trion plays the game extensively as well, but he doesn't talk unless you push him into a corner, and even then it's mostly PR goobly goob..lol

That's about it for Western sources.

Speaking of Dimmer here is one of his funny AA intro videos..

Thanks so much for all of these updates Bombur. I've been quite busy the last couple of weeks so I haven't been able to keep up. I hope this game doesn't get delayed too much. The good news is that XL games is tackling both the Japanese and Chinese beta events at the same time. Japan's beta (publisher GameOn) will start on April 26 and last for three weeks. China's beta (publisher Tencent) will start on May 22 and last for 10 days.

If everything goes smoothly, I could see them releasing the game 3rd/4th quarter of this year to both regions; that leaves TRION. I could see us getting into beta sometime 3rd/4th quarter of this year... if everything goes smoothly for the other 2 regions. It would take a miracle for this game to get released this year in the States. Maybe TRION has the resources to make it happen.

Probably tied up in their recent shit. I'm also of the mind a game you probably won't be offering service to until maybe 2014 should be promoted 8+ months out. It's like hearing about some awesome movie now, but then... "Coming in 2015." Fuck that, I'd rather not know. x.x

I can get on board with that line of thought. The issue is not with players like us however, it's with the masses they will want to attract to play their game. Trion is spreading themselves quite thin. We don't even get regular updates (or any) on End of Nations, a game they said they were working on how long ago (last blog post on EoN official site was 11.18.12 lol)? We know what they did to their Rift staff and we know how poorly Defiance launched but is being worked on yadda yadda. I'm not sure they're entirely up for all the tasks they take on. At the very least their marketing and/or PR departments are severely understaffed because not enough people care about these games right now or are even aware of them. ArcheAge doesn't even seem like a game coming out in 2014, but they want to have this out by the end of the year? I don't see it being popular without a little help from them.

I know they are tied up in their shit, but dam can we at least get a proper English website and official forums. That would be a good start..lol

Like Grey said, it feels like this game isn't even coming out in 2014..lol

What do you really expect of such if it is 7+ months out? I mean, yeah, they could set about translating the various systems and such to a loose degree to show off, but if they do that too soon, people would complain that the site updates slowly or something. Or that the game should be out NOW! They could also try spacing out info, but then you'd get the FFXI update teaser effect of less exciting aspects basically being called lame. Basically, info doesn't need months to go around like it did in the old days when it was just gaming magazines. Drop the site, complete in its entirety, one month before NA launch (or at least prior to an open beta). That'll give people plenty of time to hype themselves up and certainly keep things fresher in their mind.

As is, I guess I'm not much of a voyeur. Watching vids of other people doesn't excite me if I can't participate in some manner. Add to the fact said videos are in other languages and it's even harder to get hyped. Basically, beta participation would excite me far more than any site could hope to, and I suspect many people are similar.

Elrar logged in at AA source last night and he was bombarded with the question "When are you all gonna start promoting ArcheAge ?"..lol

He was quite frank in saying that both Austin Studio and Redwood Studios are working very hard together to bring AA over to the US. But the Redwood studio is trying to bring out Rift 2.3, so things are kinda slow atm.

He joked if anyone knows any Korean, they are looking to hire translators.
    http://trionworlds.com/en/careers/redwood-shores/

That should tell you how far along they are.

Xl games has been celebrating 100 days of AA being live over on the Korean servers. Also being in the top 5 mmo's in sub numbers. First time a non-Ncosft mmo has done that, in Korea.

If they didn't require being in San Fran, I would totally apply for the translating job. Not worth leaving Korea for it though.

Well, I'd want to say people inclined to even ask that don't need promoted to. They're simply MMO fanatics that'll gobble up anything and everything, for better or worse. I'm still very cautious of the game for various features explained here, but I'm also no ignorant of the MMO gamer element that's happy to be kicked in the nuts, smile, then ask for more. As is, Trion being retardedly slow on their progress doesn't surprise me one bit. Rift 2.3 arguably needed to be out this week, if not earlier, with the 2 year anniversary event over. Unfortunately, it's at least 2 weeks off still from the trickle of PTS info I've read. And bluntly, I'd be surprised if 2.3 kept me occupied for a month since I don't care for raids one bit.

The latest Elrar posting, I find him refreshing that he does communicate and lets AA fans know what is going on.

In other news, the upgraded siege system went into place this past weekend on the live servers. Here is how the siege system works now..

    - A guild now has to bid (in gold) for the right to attack a castle and it's surrounding lands. If there are 2 or more guilds wanting to attack a certain land, it goes to an auction and the highest bidder gets the right to attack that land.

    - The sieges now have timers that open once a week (on Saturday night), and they are open for 2 hours.

    - Once a siege goes live only the attacking and defending guild can participate. A invisible wall goes up around the siege area. Other players can watch, but if your not in the siege, and you enter inside the wall you will be ported to the nearest bind point.

    - The siege starts off as 70 vs 70. The defending guild can hire up to 30 mercenary real players to help with the defence.

    - If the defending guild starts bringing in mercenaries, then after 20 mins into the battle the attacking guild can start brining in reinforcements from real players to help with the offence, up to 30 players. So the battle ends up as 100 vs 100, if enough players participate.

    - If the attacking guild wins they can then lay claim to the land and can destroy anything on their new property to rebuild.

    - If a guild successfully defends their land, they get special coins called "Coins of the Lord". They can use the coins to buy guild perks, and the leader can buy the "Emperor's gear" and a cool Fire horse mount. They also get double the taxes on their lands and resources. (This is put in place to make defending lands an incentive)

Here are some quick teasers from last weekends siege

Sounds really similar to the old L2 siege system, which was the best thing to ever happen to a PvP game.

Here is another feature that ArcheAge has. Building and creating things with boxes.

You can buy boxes on Merchant Island and use them like building blocks to create things. Like using Lego or in Minecraft where you get blocks to create.

Can't find land to build that house you always wanted? No problem use boxes to create that lovely house of yours.

Or use boxes to make a challenging mazes.

    Videos

Video of someone building a small house using boxes.

Video of someone making a jumping puzzle using boxes.

These are just some simple things that people have made, some have built some very impressive things using boxes.

In one of the more interesting things Xl games has done, is they have added a race track on merchant island (Sorta like a Mario Cart race track). On this race track you can race your car with others. To get a car you need to craft them from items you get from Honour points, crafters, and gathering items.

You can only use your cars on this racetrack, and they are not mounts. I've been telling others about this and have been getting lots of negative feedback, many saying it's immersion breaking.

It's a mini-game within Archeage, they also have dodgeball, a basketball court, and a soccer pitch.

What do you all think ?

Here are some test drives around the race track.
