At least the RMTs are selling shards with decent prices.
At least the RMTs are selling shards with decent prices.
^ If they continue that, its only going to be so long before you start hearing the "BUYING CHEAP RMT PRODUCTS DEVALUES THE ECONOMY!!!" tripe, even though mass inflation has the economy in shambles as it is.
All I know is that if I had the choice between paying 25k for 5000 shards or 75k, I'd pay the former, even if it was from RMT.
Lucavi you keep talking as if you still play, did you make a char on another server and leave Saronia behind or what? I always see you on the ls list, but never once on, so I know you didn't delete Lucavi.
How does mass inflation have the economy in shambles? I mean there has to be inflation in the beginning of a game, by definition, otherwise money will never exist in the economy. Like you know how when everyone logs in for the first time, there's 0 gil in the economy. There's gotta be a way to get it to a decent value - that's called inflation.
MMOs commonly have fewer currency sinks than necessary in the early stages of a game, just to get the overall quantity of currency in circulation to a reasonable value before adding more sinks.
I haven't played in over a month, but I'm still actively involved in the "heartbeat" of the game, and I still care about my initial goals and aspirations for what I want to do within the game.
Don't worry Arx, Saronia, and Rzer0, are my home.
@Bruiser: I said it as a tongue-in-cheek gesture considering that so many claimed that inflation was going to be the "death" of FFXI's economy back in early 05, and especially when the Xmas rush of 05 happened. There weren't exactly a lot of gil-sinks back then either, but that didn't stop everyone from throwing their arms up and running about.
Honestly, if the RMT cannot move the currency and the brokers cannot turn it around, buying cheap shards from them isn't going to be a big deal. Depends on how well SE deals with them and how quick they repair exploits they find. That is something more detrimental than buying a couple hundred shards.
Does it really change the gaming experience that much? After seeing what chinese people go through, im partially happy for them to find easy work that doesnt involve slavery.
zen, dude... zen.
This, some would argue it is slavery as the conditions they live in. Although they compare it to our standards, not theirs so they self-rationalize it by stating that they're being worked to slaves anyway, but in reality they aren't compared to their own standard. In fact, its easy labor away from dangerous shit people should actually care about, like gangs, violence, child prostitution, and etc. I don't get why people get so butthurt over it they pay their monthly fee for their character as long as they aren't cockblocking anything or screwing with people's gameplay who gives a shit.
Thats the thing, they do block a lot of stuff. I dont treat them any different then a real person tho. Like anyone else if you try and screw with me im going to be pissed off. Most people dont act any differently then with others, its just the they tend to be assholes more then a normal person is. They treat it like a job(it is to them) and most people hate their job. lol
When their job is to exploit a game other people are trying to enjoy and end up having adverse effects on it... come on.
Found a RMT/bot today. Guy has been grinding those dodos west of skull valley for 2 days now. R29 conj with the R22 weapon, rest of the gear is the starter stuff. No rings/acc. Buffs with protect, uses cure 2 when needed and tranquility. Spams spirit dart and radiance. Stands in one spot and you can see his head turn back and forth as he waits for a pop. I reported him and hopefully SE is a bit more aggressive towards RMT in this game. I mean a r29 conj that doesn't use any offensive spells and grinds a spot 12 levels lower than him?
The 2 "tab target" bots with no LS weird names I reported back in october still play haha, see them in random caves in gardinia darting firefly's to sell flax/cotton balls I imagine. 2 human females.. with white robe and a Lv1 staff, lv 50 1 shotting the things randomly moving from cave to another cave once in awhile.
Makes me think SE really won't be doing anything about craft/fishing/mining/botanybots for awhile (like when the game gets popular and actual people)... if they banned those bots n things now, about 1/2 the population would disappear of what already is near nonexistant on some servers...
Honestly, though, they have more important things to worry about. I'd seriously doubt they even have a team, much less a few members dedicated to bots and the sort. They'll probably release a letter like they did in XI at first, simply stating that 3rd party tools are bad and have viruses, so don't do it.
you mean like Nprotect which makes you go insane because it basically forces closed everything but the game and clicking off the game/going out of fullscreen makes the game close (and or if any new program is started) and if the nprotect is ever touched in any way (or patched wrong) it won't let you play the game at all? >.>
