On the subject of prizes; eh Konami's gotten a little better at it...but I'm not flying miles just to win myself a playset of Darklords and to get my invite to Nationals. The only time I've noticed really good prizes are around Nationals; every other time I'd just rather enter some $2k tourney or so set up by shops around the country and top 4 like a boss anyway.

Power creep comes and goes. Konami did a good fucking job around the beginning of the March format pre TSHD because shit was so diverse and nothing was broken-literally anything could win (see Quickdraw), then TSHD came out and Nationals got ruined because faggots were going COLD WAVE, SUMMON CAT, DOUBLE FAULTROLL FOR GAME FAGGOT or ONE FOR ONE SPECIAL SUB MASS DRIVER NIGGA.

This is why Sean Meantigue, US Nats Champ, did so poorly at Worlds because he couldn't do anything other than Cold Wave-> Cat for game. Too bad his shit was prohibited-oh wait maybe he should have learned to be something other than a lucksacking punk.

I don't understand why shit is so inconsistent, it's like they can't keep things balanced for an extended period of time. Regardless, I've been playing this game so long I don't think I'm going to drop it for another one anytime soon, just like FFXI.
