its the same reason the Super Mario remake sold so well and was fun. It is great to play old games with a little update. Look at what SONY is doing with all the old games from the PS2. HD update and they get a lot of sales.

Its not going to be the next big game, but it is just fun to play old games on our new systems(hay I have more ps1 games on my PSP then PSP games lol)

Me and my friends bought a N64 just for like 5 games(this being one of them)

need to ask.... is strafing still broke as fuck?

lol I remember playing slappers with one hit kills and my friends would get pissed because they didn't know that strafing was actually faster than normal running.

Chuck+Mote is the best controller option. Not only can you point at what you want to shoot (aka good for pc FPSers, since anything but a mouse sucks), you can also tilt/lean/look out whatever by rotating the chuck, no other controller gives you this option, giving you a great advantage.

Just beat the tank mission, and havent played it online, but im having fun. I am not an FPSer aside from UT2K3, so I really dont like this CoD feel it has. I still think it's a fun game, but so far 64 version is better gameplay wise, the story of the Wii version is excellent, and it of course is the best FPS on the Wii. Aside from it being easy as hell (007 Classic is an impossible feat btw), the AI being dumb, and it being almost impossible to do stealth stuff, it's still a fairly fun game.

Its the same movement speed as regular forward movements. They did give you a sprint button but it doesn't work so well going side to side.

Has anyone else had problems with online multi freezing up right after a game ends but before it kicks over to start a new game, requiring you to cut the power to reboot?

    Late on this,

    http://kotaku.com/5824281/activision...neye-all-along

Activision had Plans for High-Definition GoldenEye All Along
Depending upon the consoles you own, the bad news about GoldenEye: Reloaded may still be the good news. It is most definitely a high-definition remastering of last year's title reboot on the Wii. But given the much larger shooter constituency on the PS3 and 360, and online multiplayer's vastly greater viability on those consoles, that may be all the game needs.

It will still deliver more than its Wii cousin, mostly in a set of singleplayer challenges called "MI6 Operations." But GoldenEye: Reloaded isn't a particularly complicated product: It's the Wii game, coming to the 360 and PS3. That means you're getting Daniel Craig as Bond, and the game's updated take on the video game story of GoldenEye.

Activision's James Steer, the producer overseeing GoldenEye, said work on the HD version of the game was underway concurrent with the development of the Wii version last year. "This was working in the background the whole time while they were working on the Wii game," Steer told me. "But it was very important not to disturb that team as they completed the game." Once they did, work shifted over to the high definition version.

I asked why, if the plan was to deliver GoldenEye to the PS3 and 360 all along, why Activision and developer Eurocom delivered for the Wii first. Steer said the Wii debut was meant as a gesture toward the beloved franchise's history on the Nintendo 64. My speculation is that splitting the release also stoked demand on the high definition consoles, and maximizes sales on the Wii without making the product look like an oh-by-the-way port.

GoldenEye: Reloaded promises 60 fps high-definition visuals, of course, but in what I played of it (about midway through "Outpost," the sixth mission) everything unfolded as I recalled from the Wii game, in set pieces, the placement of enemies and drops, dialogue and other details. There was a sense of muscle memory as I instinctively turned to find a weapons chest underneath a bridge, and shoot off its lock.
Steer said enemy AI will be adjusted to make your foes work more cooperatively. In GoldenEye 007 on the Wii, you had a limited window in which to eliminate all enemies that had spotted you before they would summon reinforcements. This held true on the Xbox 360 version I played, too. But playing through "Outpost" I didn't really perceive any AI adjustments, and this was before my conversation with Steer.

The MI6 Operations can basically be described as multiplayer challenges with bots for opponents. I didn't get to play any of these, but they will break down into games of elimination (deathmatch), assault (capture/destroy the flag), wave defense (protect the flag) and another mode placing a premium on stealth with only melee and silenced pistol available. Global leaderboards will encourage replay by posting not only players' times and scores, but also the set of gameplay sliders they used to pull it off. Steer foresaw bragging rights competitions over owning the best mark on the toughest set of parameters.

Given the title's stature as a seminal multiplayer shooter, Steer realizes that some will buy the game primarily for that mode only. There, he said, gamers will find 16-player support, new maps, stealth game modes that call on espionage and spycraft, and a roster of classic characters, all unique to the HD consoles. The PS3 version will also feature Move support.

"We pushed multiplayer as hard as we can for this," Steer said. "We were focused on delivering the GoldenEye multiplayer that everybody knows and loves."

The game arrives in stores later this fall.

    Hands-On GoldenEye 007: Reloaded
Eurocom is giving their Wii game GoldenEye 007 a facelift for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. GoldenEye 007: Reloaded is an expanded version with more multiplayer modes, 16 player online support, and MI6 Ops challenge levels. The demo Activision brought to a press event didn’t have those features to test, though.

Instead, I trekked through the Severnaya with Daniel Craig. Just like the Wii title, the game briefly shows him as Bond before shifting into first person mode. I started the level with a silencer, but the first enemy was easy enough to sneak up to and take down. A Eurocom employee advised me to use stealth, but I decided to shoot my way through the level since its more fitting with Craig’s interpretation of Bond. Muscling through the stage was no problem once I scooped up a machine gun from a fallen soldier.

I suppose it’s nice to see GoldenEye 007: Reloaded with revised graphics, but the build I played had a couple of glitches. Sometimes, the textures would partially load and the rest would pop-in later. This usually happened when a stage first loaded. Speaking of loading times, starting the game also took a fair amount of time to process. Both of these issues, a Eurocom employee explained, would be fixed for the final release. He also pointed out GoldenEye 007: Reloaded runs at 60 frames-per-second. Once the game loaded, GoldenEye 007: Reloaded felt fluid.

Activision plan to release GoldenEye 007: Reloaded this fall, which means it will go toe to toe with the publisher’s next Call of Duty title. GameStop lists the title as a $59.99 game, but this price was not confirmed by Activision.
Had plans on buying 007 wii but I kept forgetting to do it.

Locked Up: Activision Flip Flops on GoldenEye's Paintball Mode

Activision's decision to make classic multiplayer variant a pre-order bonus is just...ugh.

Turns out the Internet’s rabid paranoia was right on this time around.

When Activision issued detailing pre-order incentives for GoldenEye 007: Reloaded this week, it mentioned GameStop pre-orders would have a code unlock paintball mode, a classic visual "cheat" from the original. The fear was no one else would have access to paintball mode, but Activision dismissed those fears, telling me it was a standard in-game unlockable.

"If you don’t pre-order the game from GameStop you’ll still be able to play the Paintball mode, but you’ll need to unlock it by progressing through the game," said an Activision representative to me on Tuesday.

All good, right? Wrong. Activision sent me a note earlier today with a rather unfortunate correction: paintball mode actually is exclusive to GameStop. You will not be able to unlock it any other way.

“For online multiplayer, paintball is exclusive to Gamestop consumers, you can’t get it without an unlock code,” said the rep. “It’s still available as an offline mode for Mi6 Ops missions.”

Okay, fine. Maybe Activision’s simply planning to roll this out as downloadable content, as has been standard practice this generation.

“All DLC is TBA [to be announced], nothing is confirmed yet,” said the rep.

If you're playing online and the host has paintball turned on, you'll see it, too...which means it's on the disc.

    Sigh.
    Fuck Activision

    Fuck Gamestop

Money Hats for everyone, enjoy your enduring rank at the top of everyone's hate list in the industry.

It's an upgraded port of the Wii version. No idea how much of the original game is reproduced in it though.

    [EDIT] Yay for thread merge.
