You wouldn't be getting the name of the item restored, but the ID. Lv80, 85 and 90 versions all have different IDs, so your little plan is not going to work very well.

I feel ya. Joined numerous, long, painful pickup parties in Vunk for my DNC feet, only to eventually give up. I farmed solo a few days after I came back, and got them within thirty minutes. Had the upgrade items for at least four months :s

I got my NIN, BLU, and DRG feet all within about thirty minutes from the start of farming (after capping amber/pearl, then AE/cleave burning bats), and then on a separate occasion my SMN feet dropped only about an hour after the start. Was farming for the hell of it, BLU/BLU/RDM was actually pretty fun since we got to kill imps the old-school way. They just happened to drop in the process, we were actually going for someone's SAM feet. xD

It's really annoying how the feet drops work sometimes. I probably spent about a week of daily amber farming for Unkai Sune-ate before I got them, then one day we randomly did some farming for Bukkis's and walked away with 6 pairs of SAM feet total. A buddy of mine in the LS has been out there almost daily for three weeks and has yet to see DNC feet. I myself have been trying to get NIN feet also, but alas unsuccessfully.

I farmed my friend's BLU feet for roughly 3-4hrs and finally got it along with a freelot SCH. That same night, a friend wanted SCH feet so I farmed until 630am for him, but we got 3 BLU feet before that. The next day, someone wanted BLU feet (Never got it). That's how feet work people.

Mebbe old stuff but it makes me happy. Went to fight Karkadann to get his atma for my Charged Whisker build (could always do better than 4k, and +Lightning Damage can't go wrong). Beforehand I had joked that if the hose dropped, it was mine since I was getting the others their accessories, but that it was just a dream, not gonna happen. Fought it, got red, took him down, and then this:

Actually I know someone who used their restore on a partially built 80 (maybe 85, not sure) that they somehow accidentally tossed. Either way, the GM restored it but the trial was completely absent. In addition, for whatever reason, the weapon was permanently stuck in that form (80 or 85) and no trials could be started even with trading. So my buddy just tossed the useless Empyrean again and started over.

Maybe thats why the GM is not supposed to.

Edit: To clarify, when I say it came back without the trial, I don't just mean without the yellow text indiciating the trial number, the reason it couldn't be restarted is because the weapon was missing the Aug icon ... only Rare/Ex was present. Hence no new trial could be started.
