The only thing those were good for at the time were for thief ranged builds iirc. Every other job had better options.

THF R.acc build was indeed about all they were good for. I have a pair on my Mule now... and my brother has a pair... and my other static mate, back when we regularly did those fight that thing rained from the sky >_>

I used those on THF as well as on COR since I never obtained finger gauntlets. I think that for THF (apart from maybe Salvage gear), they were the best for a long time.
