So wait floor 100 is possible now? (I've bene out of the neo thread for a while)
So wait floor 100 is possible now? (I've bene out of the neo thread for a while)
Do you have to cheat like a mother fucker or is it mostly legit? (Went through the thread for a couple pages, can't take the whaaaargarbl)
I'd like to know this, too.
I use flee 100% and could probably get the rest of the group access. But what all are you using to get to FL 100? (Or how many people are using, I should say.)
I use Fillmode, obviously, but not clipper as I'm scared to. Is it relatively safe?
Fillmode, DAT Edits + Clipper virtually guarantees you 100 in a competent group now.
Last night we got 99, 98, 83, 96 with absolute dick floors and we don't use clipper so I could easily see how with clipper useage, groups are getting 100 clears with ease.
If our group did use clipper, then 13-14 of our last 16 runs would have been 100 clears with the stopper in place (12 of those 16 are pre-stopper though). So if you're willing to chance it, it's going to be definitely worth your while as it counterbalances the luck factor.
Without clipper, you generally clear 18-21 floors so sometimes you'll hit 100 whilst others you will not. With clipper you're probably looking at 21-24+ clears so you would need terrible port/floor luck or to make mistakes to not hit 100.
Ugh I haven't read up on that thread because it's confusing. Mind explaining the Stopper thing? Or in PMs if necessary. (Also thanks for the beginning infos. I need to learn the .dat edits and how to do the lamps things.)
The stopper is pretty simple. When you hit the lamp in the starting lobby you can set the floor to cap at. Now when you random port, you can never go over that cap. So if you're on floor 92 and hit ??? port, it can't send you to 101 like it could before (and that has happened to us too). I don't know what the actual menu looks like as the SCH does the porting whilst we grab temps.
The DAT edit is just as simple as replacing the file. Byrth posted a modded DAT in the Neo-Nyzul thread.
So basically the stopper is only for lvl 92? I mean, that's the only reason it's there? Thanks for the heads up on the DAT thing.
Lastly, what is that talk about Astaria stuff? I saw THAT info in the Neo Nyzul Isle thread in the updates section, completely different area/thread.
EDIT: I found the info on BG Wiki (thank god for BG Wiki)
Astraria
Upon defeating a boss from a specific floor a set number of times, players will be rewarded with an astrarium which can be redeemed for one piece of armor from the next higher boss floor (except Platinum Astrarium). Astraria can be redeemed for the associated rewards at the NPC Berangere in Aht Urhgan Whitegate (L-9). Astraria are obtained in addition to the armor which normally drops from boss battles.
Bronze Astrarium (+1 armor): Defeat floor 20 boss 25 times.
Silver Astrarium (+2 armor): Defeat floor 40 boss 25 times.
Mythril Astrarium (+3 armor): Defeat floor 60 boss 25 times.
Gold Astrarium (HQ armor): Defeat floor 80 boss 25 times.
Platinum Astrarium (HQ armor): Defeat floor 100 boss once.
It's not only for 92, that was just an example. You could set it at 80 and that would make it impossible to port past FL80, even if you killed the 80 boss.
It basically just stops you overshooting your target with random ports. If you're targetting 100 then it only comes into play on FL92+. I have no idea how it works though. Like say if you're on FL95, I don't know if it
A. Reduces the ??? port from 2-9 to 2-5 (Or just rerolls 6, 7, 8, 9)
B. If it still rolls 2-9 and any 5+ roll just reverts to putting you on FL100
Obviously option B is more preferable to A but I have no idea which way it works. All our 92+ rolls last night were shitty ports which would lean towards option A but 3 runs is a hardly a reliable sample size! Be interesting to see what other groups luck was like in this regard. Will ask in the Nyzul thread.

Something, something 1/90+
Though I should probably not be the one to complain...
90ish is nothing, so nope lol.
Took me well over 300 tries to get Ogier's Breeches, and they are supposed to be a better drop rate.
VW is retarded, took me over 300 tries to get Mekira too and then this happens on the next fight...

Bolded for truth. So far I've gone 1/6 on that body(cant wear it), 1/2 on the belt, 2/8 on the ammo....in addition to 1/1 on whirlwind dirs ( no mandau on my thf), 2/4 on aces mail (also cant wear), 1/3 on athos boots + gloves, 8 or so sollerets from pil (cant wear), and about a dozen or so nq daggers from qilin.
Yet im still 0/70 something on coruscanti, 0/120ish on tocis, and ive only seen about 10 single HMPs and 3 HM pouches
...so its true what they say...the more you want it, the longer it will take to drop...
go fuck yourself
Churchill shut the fuck up you whiny bitch.
Don't know you guys keep doing this stuff when you know it's going to take forever.
It's something to do. I guess.
Gamblers mentality? I know that's my problem...
