Look, one million views already!
I'll have a job in Anaheim, CA. Curious as to what area I would look to for rent, and about what I should budget. Not looking for a mansion, nor a dump, good will suffice.

Anaheim sucks.
When I was looking at places there it was like 1500 for a 1bdrm apt in the soulless corporate-style housing complexes. Which was about what I was paying for a 700sqft apt in a mediocre place in palo alto. So I guess there's worse places to live.
Anaheim is alright. You could look for apartments in the surrounding cities: Fullerton, Garden Grove, and Buena Park. Those tend to be a tad cheaper than south county. If you don't mind a bit more commute, you can look for places in Santa Ana... >_>
Anaheim is okay. If you really wanted to you could probably stay at Disneyland
That would be awesome except Walt Disney's ghost would try to rape and/or hang me every time I wasn't paying attention.
Kindly paint a picture of the traffic situation for me. Is it ever a quiet time on the highways? And how far would Santa Ana's commute be?
What the hell, man. You're supposed to come to Orlando.
i thought everyone was trying to get out of california and invade the rest of the country?
Cool, guy.. Good luck with the move! I'm headed to Jersey in about a month :D
Remember, we agreed that distance was the only thing that would keep us from violating the terms of your marriage. And by violate, I mean kickoff/receive buttsex, switching roles when the 2nd half of whatever MNF game we would watch started. Fuck now I'm aroused again.
Interesting. What's bringing you state side?
Long story short: Penis ... and a beautiful house in SPARTA ^_^ You know how I roll...
I live in Anaheim. Its not a terrible city. You can actually find quite a difference in rent depending on where in Anaheim you choose to live. Currently my wife and I live in a 3 bedroom duplex for $1300 in Anaheim. It of course is in a middle to lower area of anaheim. We just moved out of a really nice new complex near Anaheim Stadium, but its rent is more in the 1500s for a 1 bedroom (756sf). I wouldnt venture too far into Santa Ana as the 5 and 55 can be murderous during the morning and evening commute. Fullerton and Orange are very nice cities for the most part, but again you will be looking at 1300+ per month in those cities unless you wanna be neighbors with the crypts / bloods etc. If you can afford the 1300 to 1600 range I would check out the Archstone Gateway Apts or Anavaria Apt Complexs. They are both very new with mutliple pools gyms (with TV and Ipod hookups) and dog parks if you have k9 friends. They both are also close to a bike path that can take you to newport beach. Those complexs were supposed to be sold like condos before the market / economy went boom. Just a heads up tho California aint cheap. (Altho i dont know where you are coming from). So I would suggest adding quite a bit of money to your monthly expenses to adjust to our economy. Hope that helps ya.
tl;dr
Thanks man, I appreciate the info. Yeah I am very aware Cali isn't cheap. Although I've lived in cities where rent and cost of living were low, I was born in NoCal, and I know that it'll cost a bit more. No estimate I've been given has been less than 900, and I've never dreamed of paying that much prior, but I know I'll have to.

YOU KNEW WHAT HE MEANT
Make sure it's rent control so they don't raise the rent super high each year
Doesn't Krista live in Anaheim?

I'm not fucking with her though, so she could be my next door neighbor and it wouldn't matter.
