Pffft. Next you guys are gonna try saying that WAR/WHM isn't the same thing as PLD. Sheesh, what kinda noob do you think I am?

I'm not sure how it interacts. I vaguely remember seeing some testing (maybe Releena-Seraph's LJ?) but it was so long ago that I don't even know if I'm spelling their name right anymore. I thought I remembered it adding a static amount of Slow (wiki has it at 10%) but I don't remember if they did the test with Slow II as well.
PS. is the free version of FRAPS usable for these kinds of tests?
Someone give Kirschy a medal or something already please.
Keep bringing in the awesome info hun :3
Not trying to derail this, but am I the only one who still has phal II merited to 5/5? I've changed my rdm t2 merits like 10 times now, but will gladly re-do them again. What's the general consensus now for rdm t2 with this information present?
edit: also ty for another worthwhile test
Nonsense, Bio III is infinitely more valuable than Dia III.
Pretty happy with my 4 Slow 4 Para 2 Dia setup personally.
Would this information make Saboteuring Slow II instead of Paralyze II for the more reliable duration a good approach?
You're not alone. I'm still 5/5 Slow2 and 5/5 Phalanx2 and I do a ton of low-man stuff, but hardly any zerging or soloing. However, I have been debating whether or not I should remove 1 Phalanx for a single merit into Paralyze2 just for a bit of extra proc. You might say: "well, you could just Accession Phalanx and redo those merits entirely", which might be true, but when the level cap hits 99 and RDM has access to Repose, /WHM will be the absolute best overall subjob an RDM could choose. Having access to a form of light-based Sleep2 really is THAT good.
Slow is king, and will always be king in my book. All this testing really does is prove it. Bring on Massacre Elegy.
Stun from /BLM says hi
I'm currently 5 slow2 4phalanx2 1para2, was 4slow/5phalanx prior. rdm I do stuff with has dia3.. and with how long you can make it last, phalanx does still end up mitigating a decent bit of damage over the course of a fight. I've been thinking of changing it a bit, but haven't decided yet.
Sorry, complete mage noob here...and I did look for the answer, and probably have it, but what are you guys talking about in terms of an increase in potency compared to "normal" values of slow, slow II, slow X+ elegy, etc?
So slow II w/sab & 5/5 merits & C.Elegy = roughy 125% correct? That's about as high as it gets?
C.Elegy is 50% correct
How much is it w/out sab and Elegy, 39% according to wiki?
We been using Sab on Para II to great effectiveness early in fights, but that effectiveness fades rather quickly.
Anytime I care about giving melee - or anyone - Phalanx, I'm /sch anyway. Phalanx2 seemed a waste of merits compared to the alternatives, so I ditched it with no regrets. If things change at 99 or whatever, then they change - it's not like re-doing merits is hard.
Can you break the 100% cap without Sabo?
I see, thank you
Repose won't save /whm for Rdm.
