Who single-target sleeps anything, except something you happened to miss when you were sleeping multiple things?

sub whm if you need stona, sch if you need -nas, nin otherwise ... if you aren't -naing there's 0 reason to sub sch or whm

besides, whm is an infitely better healer and if you need the sleeps you can sub blm on it

Even assuming you're using /sch, it's rarely worth a stratagem charge for phalanx.

I've had 5/5 Slow II forever. The other 5 I've moved around a lot. Originally started on 5/5 Para II. I joined a Salvage group and LS leader wanted me to get Phalanx II for some reason, so I went 1/5 Para II and 4/5 Phalanx II. After I left, I went 5/5 Bio III for soloing then back to 5/5 Paralyze II when Sabo was implemented.

On paper Phalanx II looks good for lowman situations, but in practice it really isn't. In most situations nowadays, you will only die from being one shotted imo, and it's not like a 30 damage phalanx will save you that often.

It seems for the longest time people have had this aversion to taking damage and mages having to excessively use cure. Inside Abyssea, where mages get 20+ mp refresh, this really isn't a bad thing.

Phalanx II is really nice when a mob puts up undispellable spikes and your DDs have 70% haste.

But what if I wanted to maximize nuke dmg? I have bind/grav and mp isn't a problem.

I thought I remembered it adding a static amount of Slow (wiki has it at 10%) but I don't remember if they did the test with Slow II as well.

PS. is the free version of FRAPS usable for these kinds of tests?
You can find the tests Releena did here. Short version: QD didn't add to Slow II, but things may have changed in four years.

Ran a simple Colibri test to test how players respond to being Sabo Slow II + Elegied. The two go over the 100% cap, giving my BRD's normal 60s mazurka 130 second recast. (If it were capped at 100%, it would have given me a 120s recast.) This goes to show mobs + players have a similar mechanics in this sense. My guess is that that slow from Elegy itself has it's own cap, similar to magic haste and eq haste.

Catagory I - Sources of Haste
Haste and Slow Equipment - 4/16
    Haste Spell, Marches - 7/16
    JA - 4/16

Catagory II - Sources of Slow
    Slow Spell, Weakness - 16/16
    Elegy - 8/16

Nothing definitive, but it appears to work like this. Sources in the same catagory are additive, and sources from different catagories are multiplicative. There would be extra categories for recast-changing spells/abilities/traits such as Fast Cast, Composure, Hasso/Seigan, Troub, Night, etc...

Seem's weird that March is magic haste, but Elegy isn't magic slow... but *shrug*.

Next level cap /drk gets Absorb-TP. Not a mainstay by any means but could have some uses.
