If only it was really that big.
I had one for lunch today as well. KFC is notorious for blowing the shit out of their products on commercials. Every sandwich they have is hilariously small. The double down isn't even a filling meal - its the size of the interior of my palm, and its like $7.50 for the meal. That was a one-and-done if I ever remember one.

The discrimination against skinny people is unbelievable. I eat plenty of healthy things and workout, I should be able to get a happy meal with a great fucking toy every once in a while.
Seconded, the entire economy has moved to solely trying to take care of fat fucks, all the restaraunts are changing to bland low-fat granola-for-dinner bullshit and it's damn near impossible to find clothes for myself at standard retailers since they don't order anything smaller than XL

I loved the P'zone commercials from Pizza hut, those calzone things they were selling that were "over one pound of food".

If you watched, the dudes chowing down on them were holding them at the very corners with their thumbs and index fingers, making them look much bigger in comparison.

I don't want government nowhere near my "insert talking point here!" But I sure as hell want them to raise my kids because I'm a shitty parent that can't make proper choices.

EDIT: And a big fuck you to fat people! The constant tax dollars spent to cater to you fat fucks needs to stop. Go run a damn mile.

I love how in one breath people are all "OMG BIG BAD GOVAMENT GET OUTTA MAH MCD'S" and in the next complain about how fat Americans are and what a huge drain on the economy poor, fat kids become when their three coronary bypass surgeries and dialysis are comped by Medicaid when they're fatass 50 year-olds. The goddamn article wasn't even talking about limiting food choices; the law was aimed at making it illegal to MARKET unhealthy food directly to kids by including cheap-ass made-in-China toys. Similar to how they made it illegal to MARKET cigarettes directly to kids by creating ads 3 feet off the ground.

If McDonald's started selling McMercury Nuggets that came with a free trip to Disney World with each purchase (only if you eat it, though), it'd be totally cool, right? The parents could always choose the apple slices, instead.

    EDIT:

There's a reason public health measures are enacted by government. It reduces costs and resource consumption, and prolongs the contributions of the working class in society. I have no problem with idiots who think that it should be their choice to smoke or eat shitty foods or not wear their seatbelt. Just so long as if you are injured or develop a disease because of your shitty decisions, that your insurance and/or Medicaid/Medicare benefits are voided and you have to pay for your busted-ass body out of pocket.

Not even this, they're only removing the free toy. Nothing prevents McD's from charging $1 for the toy separately.

No law is ever going to make shitty parents stop being shitty. Banning fast food doesn't matter when you'll still have hambeasts wwwwhhhhirrrrrrrr'ing down the Walmart aisles gulping down HFCS like it's from Zeus' left tit, on their way to the frozen shit aisle. Fat people are fat of their own volition; it's not like the facts are hidden and they're being forced to eat shit every single meal. There's no point restricting delicious greasy food from everyone because some Trigs don't understand the concept of moderation.

Is it only free toys? Shit then McDonalds can easily get around this by just saying that the toy is part of the cost of the meal - they don't even have to charge $1 for it

They're only removing the toy. Why the fuck are 20-40+yr olds complaining about a fucking happy meal toy? It's like every damn thread that even mentions health suddenly has to breakdown into fatasses bitching about how the government won't let them eat their way into cardiac arrest and add to wait lists at certain hospitals. I hope evolution takes care of all of you.

    Spoiler: show
And by "takes care", I mean shows you the fucking door. See that? I can be an arbitrarily angry jackass as well.

Eating shitloads of healthy food will get you just as fat as eating shitloads of unhealthy food. It's all about the calories, mang.

In 5th grade my teacher was trying to control my eating habits, for example my mom would always pack me a lunch in my red power rangers lunch box with a bag or two of chips, a capri sun, and some other thing. My teacher would constantly badger me about it, she actually threw my lunch away once and told me to get a "healthy" lunch from the cafeteria like the other kids and told me I'm spoiled. My mom WORKED at the cafeteria, I told her what happened, and my mom fucked the bitch up. No one has the right to tell her what to feed me lol

Anyway, I'm healthy and fit now but that's besides the point I think they should DEFINITELY make companies have consumers be more aware of what they're eating by putting the calories and ingredients everywhere, hell go ahead and put a "Warning: If you eat this you will die" label on all of it, but I think actually banning food or restricting it in any way is beyond retarded. And this is coming from a strict vegetarian. You should be able to eat what you want, whenever you want.

What kids are making the decision to eat a Happy Meal? I couldn't imagine a child young enough to give a shit about a Happy Meal toy walking up to a counter and ordering/paying for one themselves. The ban is just so idiotic parents who just buy their annoying brats whatever they want to no longer have to be pressured into buying Happy Meals by their own offspring. Those poor adults. Thank god SF stepped in to help them out.

Regardless, as I mentioned before, there are plenty of decently "healthy" options for Happy Meals as well as the rest of their menu.

On a similar note... The other day, I walked out to the swimming pool area at my apartment to buy a bottle of water from the vending machine as I was in a hurry to drive somewhere. The vending (Coca-Cola) machine was gone. Vanished. I happened across the maintenance/groundskeeper type guy on the way to my car and asked him "wtf?" and he said that the big corporation that owns the apartment complex has decided to "go green" and has removed all vending machines that dispense "unhealthy" beverages and/or food were all removed from all of their properties to encourage better dietary health.

Thanks for making my decisions for me by removing convenience, assholes. This is a 1/2 bdrm apartment complex... which consists of 99% adults. I can't stand this type of crap.

    1. So, is there anything about removing the toy from happy meals that adults should be upset about?
    2. If you're that angry, why not move to another apartment that still offers vending service? Much like how parents aren't bound to listen to the child that pesters them for a happy meal, there's nothing to suggest that you have to stay there (Forever).

telling parents to stop letting their children dictate their spending habits is about as practical as telling them that if they want happy meals with toys in them they can move out of san francisco

Except a lot of the nutrition facts are purposely hidden thanks to loopholes in the law that allow food companies to do it.

Case in point: Trans fats are listed as 0g per serving, regardless of serving size, as long as the serving size has less than 0.5g. This means that a handful of potato chips with 0g trans fat as a serving could have 0.49g of trans fat. This also means that one cooking with 0g of trans fat as a single serving could have 0.49g of trans fat. 4 cookies = 2g of trans fat, not 0g.

Trans fats are fucking terrible for you and this is a lot of the problem. It's an overload of hidden sugars and fats that while they seem "harmless" in small numbers, add up greatly because of the ridiculous serving size we give people. Did you know technically a hamburger can actually feed two people?

It's not about "save the children think of the children" or "hey these fat fucks are ruining society". It's "people are trying to eat healthy and companies capitalize on this to turn a profit". They don't give a shit about people, or health, or anything else - they give a shit about money. So regardless of whether or not McDonald's offers apples and muffins to children as an alternative to burgers and fries, they know that the allure of getting a toy and the yumminess of burgers will cause the vast majority of parents to buy them the unhealthy shit.

You're all fucking delusional if you think these companies offer "healthy alternatives" because they care about healthy food.

Lastly, people should be allowed to eat whatever they want. I cook all the time and once in a while I should feel free to go eat McDonald's and get a toy. There are severely disgusting fucking obese people out there that eat like the world is ending and yet we're all told there's a food shortage.

Fat people are these restaurants' best fucking friends. They could care less if you get thin, because every time someone comes in and orders 10 $1 cheeseburgers, they make money. Simple as that.

Saying that fast food restaurants shouldn't be held accountable for their food marketing is just like as said above with cigarette companies and their cigarette marketing. They know that people will go out and buy it because they're addicted, or lazy, or irresponsible, or just plain stupid, and they're counting on it because at the end of the day that is what keeps them paid. Not your health, not your happiness, not your children's happiness, and certainly they don't give a shit if you continue buying their product. All they care about is that someone does.

Thanks for making my decisions for me by removing convenience, assholes. This is a 1/2 bdrm apartment complex... which consists of 99% adults. I can't stand this type of crap.
Yes, because like 99% of mature adults, you can just go somewhere else to get your soda or stock it in your fridge you lazy shit. I wasn't aware paying rent gave you the right to decide what vending machines you can have at your complex.
