Question for friend: Trigger for the Latent on Fatality belt?
Would anyone have any recommendations for good mobs to duo in Abyssea? Not NMs, just regular ol' mobs for EXP and Cruor.
While I predict that the answer is "virtually anything," I'm wondering if there's anything squishy, like Mandragoras, which someone has had particularly good experiences with. My partner and I are both level 80, and we have both Abyssea add-ons. While my job options are BLM and MNK, they have many more jobs available (e.g., RDM, WHM, SAM, et cetera).
Frogs, chigoes, murex, worms, colibri and birds would be my first choices for solo/duo mobs due to lacking of or weak TP abilities. More or less in that order.
Why would you wanna duo when either of you could just flag up and cap out completely in like 6 hours? Especially on BLM; You'll get a worm party in minutes. There's a place for just about every job in Abyssea parties.
If you insist on duoing unnecessarily, Murex are pretty easy. As always, Colibri are easy. I would recommend worms, but they're a big XP target, so don't be one of those douchebags that goes in and fucks up an entire Alliance's XP. Basically, anything that's easy outside will be easy inside.
Thanks for the suggestions.Originally Posted by amok
We're 80, and haven't finished the 85 limit break yet. We're both only a couple of merits from being able to complete the quest. After that, we plan on forming an alliance that will take us from 80 to 85 and fill our merits.
Thanks for being a presumptuous cocksucker, though.
Unclaimed mobs are open to everyone. If your alliance sucks so horribly that a duo could threaten its entire existence, learn how to play the game properly, and maybe you won't be such a weepy pussy.Originally Posted by Sylvrdragon
Thanks for the actually important parts of advice.
I quit at 80 cap and don't particularly fancy getting into the hierarchy of DD's shitstorm in the other thread due to lack of knowledge post Abyssea. I've quickly glanced over it and done some quick number crunching. Am I right in thinking that my DRK, even with an Apocalypse, is going to be complete garbage now if I ever entertained the idea of playing again?
My DRK is capped on new items from this update (ie; full AF3+2, Lv 85 Apoc, All Atmas, etc...), but I still haven't touched DRK in over a month now. It's fine, and can accomplish anything in Abyssea with relative ease, but there are jobs that just do it better, faster, and more efficiently. If you're one of those people who don't care about winning a fight in 3 minutes as opposed to 5 minutes, DRK is still great to use.
The game is undoubtedly more fun than ever, even with the wide gap between different DD in Abyssea. I'd suggest giving a try~
It's going to be the same as always:
Good player playing good job > Good player playing bad job > Bad player playing good job > bad player playing bad job
The only difference now is the gap between good player/job and good player/bad job is a whole lot bigger, and the gap between good player/bad job and bad player/good job got a whole lot smaller. Apocalypse is kinda meh considering how easy it is to sit on or very near the haste cap without it, but DRK is still passable in the "you can still kill stuff with it" sense.
Sometimes Bad player playing bad job might be preferable to Bad player playing good job...
Take BLM v. DRK for instance. Would you rather have a bad player on BLM T5 nuking mobs from 100% and pulling hate onto your mages, or a bad player on DRK using a Seiryu's Sword and missing 65% of the time while doing shit damage?
Could somene help me with what the best gear is for Leaden Salute? Or at least a good set
Does anyone have a decent strategy for Guimauve / Pudding NM in Abyssea Konschtat? Not sure whether its soloable just need information on it since Wiki is lacking. Thanks.
PS: Have used the search function and have not been able to find what I need.
Use your Quick Draw MAB set.
For example mine is:
Pluto Staff
Mayhem +1 (+9MAB, till I unlazy and do WoE)
Cor. Tricorne +1
Uggy Pendant
Moldivite Earring
Drone Earring
Mirke (+4 MAB, -5 QD)
Rovers Gloves
Demon Ring (+2 MAB, +2 M.Critt)
Bhalarin's Ring
Forban Cape
Sveltesse Gouriz
Denali kecks
Wood M. Ledeslens (almost done with Navarach's Bottes +1)
I got a question about DRK M.kris Zerg gear.
I haven't been paying much attention to what new stuff there is from the expansions as far as HP gear goes. I also don't know how much HP a slot must have to warrant removing 1% Haste.
If anyone could help me with suggestions of upgrades to this current gear: ffxiah dot com/item-sets/187884 (Sorry, can't post URLs yet)
I would appreciate it alot.
Keep in mind, I am not a rich player, so things like Dusk Gloves +1 are out of the question. As far as Rare/Ex gear goes, yeah I'm still trying to get a Speed/Velocious belt.
If there's anything better than that avalible (bar Ninurta), let me know too.
Also, for most events I do I will either be stuck on /SAM, /NIN or /THF, depending on what the leader wants. That's why I don't use a Wyvern earring right now.
/thf means your lsleader is smoking crack and needs to get with the times. Might also be a good idea to sell that mkris given how most jobs are catching up to drk zerg damage easily so you'll endup with a weapon that just isnt that special anymore.
And considering that blitz is better than +75ish hp already i have a hard time seeing haste NOT beating any +hp options ever.
Grellow follows same proccing rules as red?
Thanks for the answers. Pretty much what I expected. I don't think the speed of fights would bother me since I did most things lowman before I quit anyway. I think what would bother me more is being below people I used to comfortably beat when they don't have a relic. Ah well, will have a think about it. Wasn't all that tempted in the first place, will see what the update has to offer.
Finale +2 (Ney): What does it actually do? Is there any evidence that +song instruments increase accuracy? Lullaby+ increases sleep time, Elegy+ adds slow potency, but do any of them actually add accuracy? Is Ney worth getting? Could every single sentence in this post be a question?
I've been trying to solo the crab section of WoE, with a little success - but it seems to be heavily luck based. After killing a mob, I've had 1, 2 and 4 mobs move to the DP.
Sometimes I can pick off one from a group before they reach DP, sometimes I can't, and sometimes I can, but I'm too banged up to do it safely (fuck Waterga II in the ass).
I can somewhat safely take 2 blue crabs at once as long as they don't spam Bubble Shower relentlessly. If there's a gray crab involved, things get shittier (kill gray first, but have to deal with -PDT on it - or kill blue first and eat every Waterga II and Poisonga, raping shadows).
What I'm wondering is, would I be able to hold hate off of a WHM if I supertanked up to 4 crabs at once using Spinning Attack as my primary (only) real way of keeping hate on the 3 mobs I haven't engaged yet?
Trying to find a duo work around for the cockblock of crabs on the stairs, or the insta-fail of mega boss or 4x crabs coming down after solo killing the first mob.
