Hey, a friend of mine is having problems with her filters. No matter what filters she turns on (or off) they do not effect what is shown in the chat log in game. As of now it seems like the game thinks she has the following filters off with the rest of them on.
Special actions started on/by you
Special action effects on/by you
Attacks by you
Missed attacks by you
Attacks you evade
Shes tried turning them all off, turning them all on, doing it again, shutting down with them off/on, restarting the whole computer with them off/on, and file checking. Nothing seems to fix this.
Any ideas?
Edit: It seems that every now and then something will slip through this 'invisible' filter. For example she'll see a party members spell. This happens very rarely though.
I tossed my relic katana (the 999 delay one which makes delay testing 10x easier.) I do have lv 85 ninja, but no AF body or Suppa. Dualwield V is 35%, and pretti sure I have AF2 @ NPC, which brings me to 40%. I would need (1-haste)*(1-.4) = .2 to hit the supposed 80% cap. That requires 67% haste, which I can't do /w SV Songs/Eq, since I can't cap Eq Haste w/o legs. Even if I could, I wouldn't be able to check with higher total reduction to see if there is a cap.
If someone had AF Body + Suppa + AF3+2 Legs, that'd be 50% total dualwield. (1-Haste)*(1-.5) = .2, would require 60% haste to reach. 25% in Gear, ~36.5% from song/spell = 61.5% would do it. /w SV Songs/Capped Haste, you'd be 68.75% Haste. (1-.6875)*(1-.5) = .15625 which is over 20% faster and should be detectable.
There are other sources of Dual Wield+ too, so if someone has these pieces and wishes to run a fraps test, or even a timed test, it should be fairly easy to see. Use 2 high delay weapons such as swords or clubs. (There's a 324 Delay Club for all jobs. Also the 999 Delay relic katana would make a night/day difference.) Use a non-DA sub such as /DRG. Time 20-40 attack rounds. (Use Timestamp and SS for good proof!) Repeat the test with SV Marches.
Using the above experiment w/o SV Songs with 2x 300 delay clubs would be 600 delay pre-haste/dualwield. 600 * .2 = 120 delay/60 = ~2 seconds per attack. Over 40 attacks, that would be ~80 seconds.
Using the above experiment /w SV songs with 2x 300 delay clubs would be 600 delay pre-haste/dualwield. 600 * .15625 = 97.75 delay/60 = ~1.5625 seconds per attack. Over 40 attacks, that would be 62.5 seconds.
Granted some of the calculations are rounded, and there's flooring at various points, if there IS a cap on total delay with Dualwield, it would be noticable. More-so with more Dualwield options. Hopefully someone wants to run the test though, since I'm unable to~
Quick and dirty test, but unless I messed something up I would say that is correct. I had to test on dnc: 30% DW from traits, 10% from gear. 23% gear haste, 43.75% from SV marches+haste. All together that should give me 0.6 * 0.3325 = 0.1995 of my original delay. Counting swings with no double attack gear/traits I got ~1.48 swings/sec. Then I added haste samba and counting swings I got ~1.55. Both pretty close for such a short and imprecise test. And with my delay of 201+186, I should get about 1.55 swings/sec at 80% delay reduction. So, if there was no delay reduction cap haste samba should have made a huge difference, bringing me up to over 2.2 swings/sec.
Assuming this is correct, that means ideal tp gear for nin with marches and haste is juogi+1, DW belt and shinobi ring? And with soul voice or haste samba all you can swap out is belt and ring (and I guess suppa)?
What's the current upper limit of BLM damage on nukes?
A BLM in my LS was cranking out 5000+ damage Freeze IIs last night, basically one shotting mobs before they reached camp... I think he was using the Minkin and Beyond Atmas...
Not really the place to ask tech-related questions, but I didn't want to make a thread in Tech for a minor issue. Lately I've been noticing occasional stutter/lag whilst running through areas. I don't think it's an issue with rendering, because I usually can't reproduce the stutter by running back through whatever patch it occurred in, and because my PC has no trouble running the game with permanently capped FPS. Fraps doesn't even register an FPS drop when this happens. The closest thing I can think of to compare it to that I know some people have experienced is the crippling lag some players get when their camera gets close to a Conflux, except a lot less severe. The weirdest thing is that it seems to happen more in confined spaces - the tunnel leading down to the gate in Hazhalm was the first place I noticed it happening, because it was pretty unrelenting, and recently my Jeuno MH has been doing it almost constantly.
Has anyone experienced anything similar? I'm not on a wireless connection, and I haven't knowingly altered any relevant settings or installed any new programs that might be running in the background. ATI Radeon HD 5700, Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU 760 @2.80GHz.
Nah, I usually keep DD set to 1 because certain parts of certain zones lag me with it turned up high, and it's annoying to keep switching back and forth.
Well, only other things I can think of if problems aren't consistent is maybe overheating or something you have in the background munching up resources updating itself or whatever. If you find it's growing steadily more frequent, it might be the early signs of your video card failing.
Is there a faster way to route to climb Parradamo Tor in Abyssea-Attohwa than climbing it in the normal zone?
I was worried about something like that, although it seems unlikely given that my PC is fairly new, and I've hardly been over-using it. Also the fact that it always occurs in my MH of all places makes me think that there might be something Conflux stutter-esque going on after all.
Common pop areas for the T2 VNMs in Crag zones? Hunting down Chesma and Tammuz for weapons and the size of the zones is making finding them a pain.
Is there ever a situation, or reason to actively pursue, a eva set on mnk? I used one way back in the day for awhile soloing, but its been a few years. anything i needed to evade on i went nin lol, but my current char doesnt have nin anymore and I was thinking about making an eva set. can get pretty easy +120 eva. Would this be advisable for soloing stuff (often times i solo murex when bored), or would it be pointless since kill speed would drop a lot? Would a possible hybrid be better, say like fumas <> aurore, byakkos <> ocelot and changes like that?
If stuff is in Abyssea, you'd be better off killing it than trying to evade it. If it's overworld content, you're 10 levels higher and thus have a better Eva skill on 85MNK than a 75Thf ever did. So, in short, you can make an eva set for the occasional bit of overworld content that may still require it (Makes shit like Charybdis more of a joke than it was before I guess?), but it's hardly a necessity and it's rare that I'd find myself giving up Haste for Evasion.
I full usu over tantra mix/match for evasion and toss on eva torque and boxer mantle, but I don't like tp in af+1 shoes or the eva+10 belt
