Not entirely accurate afaik...see below.
Whenever you cancel a Cruor buff, it reapplies itself ~1 second later, but does not heal you. So if you're at 1k HP without Cruor buff, and 1400 with, when you click off your cruor buff you will briefly drop to 1000/1000, then when it reapplies itself, you'll go up to 1000/1400.
Now then, unless I'm mistaken, cruor buffs are ignored entirely by the latent rings (or at least, Sorc ring). Specifically, this means if you have 1k HP pre-cruor buff, and thus need 759 HP to activate the latent, once you get cruor buffs, you still need 759 HP to activate the ring. What this means is, you still need a latent set (which isn't really that hard to get I don't think - Bifrost, Serket, Graia, Ether, Morganas is 230 HP, full Shura is 150 more for 380 total, which is enough for up to 1520 HP pre-cruor buffs.). To activate it, put on your latent set, then click off cruor buff, then put on your full set after...this will first drop your max HP to latentset+cruor buff, then when you click off cruor buff you'll drop to HP value in latentset with no cruor buff, then when you put normal gear back on + gain cruor buffs back, you dont heal at all and remain at latentHP value.
It is my experience that this is not true. It was a misunderstanding caused my BLMs nuking in Zenith Mitts early in the days of Abyssea. Rings still go off <hpp>, and Sorcerer's Ring still includes Convert HP->MP gear.
BLM has 1000 HP, in Abyssea he has 1400 HP. Outside Abyssea his ring triggers at 749 (including Convert HP->MP), in Abyssea, his ring triggers at 1049 (including Convert HP->MP). The misunderstanding occurred because of this:
BLM is outside Abyssea and naked (1000/1000).
He forces his HP down to 749/749, -251HP.
When he swaps back to his nuking gear, he has 749/930 (+70 from Zenith Mitts/Ixion Cape) = 749/1000 <75%, so his Ring is Active
He enters Abyssea and gets his buffs naked, so now he's at 1400 HP.
He uses his force gear, which now forces his HP down 351HP to 1049.
When he swaps back to his nuking gear, he has 1049/1302 (+70 from Zenith Mitts/Ixion Cape, but -98 from -70HP*1.4) = 1049/1372 = 76-77% > 75%, so Ring is not active
I actually had Sorcerer's Ring on AH when I figured this out. Minstrels was obviously still working, but Sorc wasn't, so I figured it had to be something with HP->MP gear. So many people cut it close with their HP->MP gear that they ended up mistakenly assuming it had stopped working. Between Eradicio Mitts and Goetia Mantle, this isn't really an issue any more.
Hmmm my pol viewer crashed 3 times in a row just now while in WoE. Anyone know what it could be?
My bad, thanks for clarifying.
I'll go test it with Minstrel's and Sorcerer's Rings later. I'm like 99% sure that they both work still (Minstrel's is incredibly obvious), but level 50 JSE rings aren't particularly consistent in their mechanisms so I guess that doesn't mean Shinobi would have to work.
Did a little more testing to ensure that I didn't need to be engaged or something random...at ~812 HP it worked and reduced the recast of reraise...decided to retest and confirm again at ~122x HP (still like 62% or something visible HP) and 1min recast on reraise.
It's possible what you are saying is true about other rings, but I'm skeptical...
I just bought a Minstrel's Ring and tested it, and it's false.
Aside from being obvious to eyeball -25% cast time going from ~78% to ~53%, you can see from the log it's a 9 second delay from starting casting to receiving the effect with ring, and an 12-13 second delay without it.Code:[13:19:49]1392/1392hp, no ring [13:19:58]Thedirtyhobo starts casting Knight's Minne on Thedirtyhobo. I didn't leave the start area, no idea how I'd miraculously have TP. I got cruor buffs, I clicked off the HP buff, was at ~62% HP, cast reraise with ring on, and saw a 60 sec duration. After that, I went out and let a mob hit me 2 times (Started at 1220 HP), confluxed back to 1, then cast reraise again at ~800HP and the ring worked.
Looks like you're right though and the rings are just so random as to what counts and what doesn't.
It looks like if I had two abyssites of merit that then I would not have to worry about having any gear to activate the latent. With two of the abyssites the buff goes to 40%.
Therefore
1000hp * 1.4 = 1400hp
1000/1400 = 0.7142
Seems to me doing this would make it so that it's a little more straightforward and questing the necessary abyssites should be simple.
Does anyone know the number for the SE support center? I lost my token so I need them to unlink it![]()
thank you so much for the quick response
I'm trying to solo farm (79 BST) Viridian Abyssite of Avarice. Haven't had much luck finding Ephemeral Clionids to kill. According to wiki, there are two possible pop locations, near the existing Clionids. Are they lottery pops off those mobs? I've been going on that premise, but in about 2 hours of killing clionids, I only saw one Ephemeral Clionid and that was in the middle of the Canyon Efts. Trying to do this solo, so any advice would be appreciated.
Also, I can still get key item drop if I pull with pet, correct? I think this is the case, but can't remember on the other key items I've farmed.
Tahrongi is odd. Ephemeral mobs there pop when people are slaughtering NQ monsters. In my experience, where the mobs pop isn't obviously related to which are killed. You will be best off waiting until a alliance is slaughtering the zone, then going in an spamming widescan while you warp around. I think I claimed with my pet and still got the Abyssite.
