Chant is the best thing to happen to rdm melee ever aside from Razed Ruins making it awesome enough to use in a combination with. In my opinion the OA3 is worse than OAT from a DoT/damage rating standpoint but mainly because the multihit spread is worse than other weapons like Mkris. Best offhand is a multihit weapon hands down in my opinion, maybe a DA sword if you don't get a multihit, joy/justice works fine until you're that far in magians though, and can stand doing all the kills/item gathering. What really sucks is the ideal TP set for Rdm involves ninurta's sash still...

I'm going to get flamed but I'm going to go ahead and say yes it does up the %, but not nearly to the % of atma/KI.

Should be both, but not 100% sure it actually increases the quality.

Lemme ask it this way: when trying to amber farm in older zones, is ruby *really* that bad? People make it out to sound like the devil.

Ruby means more red which means less gold, simple as that.

Sedna, low-man strat? Any major concerns etc? With a solid MDT-% set can pretty much any job tank it? How about kiting in the tunnel? Possible? Spells might be an issue?

Did sedna multiple times with MNK WHM or NIN WHM. Usually had a BLM friend or 2 to help speed up the process. Think I favored MNK due to counter, but blade: hi whittles it down faster for me than ascetic's. Absolute minimum would be 2; 3 if you want a stunner to be slightly safe. All his dangerous moves are magical, so someone who can keep hate may benefit keeping mdt on, but I wouldn't underestimate his melee attacks; ~300-400 noncrits and ~550 on crits on NIN without berserk up.

Shadow tanking is basically useless since his aqua blast attack (which he spams every 3 seconds) wipes shadows, which is why I slightly favored MNK over NIN. However, he is a little blind, so evasion tanking on NIN may work as well.

Also, there is something weird about his hate. May have been cure spam or something, but at certain points in the fight, he would just dive towards my WHM or BLM and it takes a bit to get hate back on me.

Also this sucker has near flee (or flee) speed; kiting is not possible lol. Highly recommend the person with pop set to spend 100 resistance credit to buy a sprinters drink when popping. Powder boots/flee are good options as well.

Decided to start leveling nin from 75 to 85 for abyssea use, whats the best way to spend merits for nin? I assume 5/5 subtle blow, but what about for the rest of group 1 and group 2? Unlock all the san spells or should i just do like 2 of them 5/5 so i have 2 spells that are fully merited? Or is elemental ninjutsu dmg not even worth it even if using mab atmas for a kited fight or something?

No. The trials say the zone the mobs are in and they only count there.

Question about Carabosse, how is it that people are killing her without Benediction going off? We've gotten her to 1% a few times at had her restore all her HP; we've brought extra DDs to try and kill her faster if it's a timed thing but she's used it within 20 seconds of being popped; we've brought a RDM/DRK to chainstun and she managed to get it off in between stuns. Is the only solution to either deal with it as a 5 minute fight instead of 45 second fight, or bring a full alliance worth of DDs (we were going with 8 at the time)?

Waterja is a partial hate wipe on the target.

And Carabosse is all luck, sometimes she Benes at 90%, sometimes 5-10. If you can get her low, and can proc red to stun her, its "easy" to kill without bene. No real reason to Red her except for allure atma, so go ahead and abuse the 3-5 times you can stun lock her.
