Any bar that serves it without clear serving guidelines is being irresponsible, and it's going to be a race between lawyers and politicians to take action when the media catches wind of someone dying or killing someone under the influence of it.

Caffeine really isn't that big a deal in alcoholic drinks.

I'm loving how there's been at least 3 different figures about caffeine content in this thread.

According to Four Loko's website, each 23 oz can contains has roughly the same amount of caffeine as a tall Starbucks coffee; which is around 260mg (Source) That's a little over 2 cups of coffee.

A 14 oz can of Guinness Stout has 5% abv (.7oz)
A 23 oz can of Four Loko has 12% abv (2.82oz)
The average rum and coke has between 2-4oz of rum 40% abv (.8-1.6oz)

Note that any drink recipe will almost NEVER be followed at a bar, or especially at a house party. Every bartender eyeballs the amounts of liquor and compensates for good tippers, acting like 2-4 oz in a drink is standard is laughable.

I went and tried a can of these the other day with my gf, we played a drinking card game thinking we would get a little buzz from it.
