How does that match up with RR/GH/DD atma with more constant crit?
I don't have DD so can't compare that but love my results with those 3 so far I also use it on SAM and DRK as well.
Would Apocalypse be better then if you're just going for Triple Attack?
It's a stronger mod for one thing, and while you lose the +50 attack, you don't get hit with the massive HP down either.
SS is less valuable to war than, say, mnk (from a purely dmg perspective) because they have native ctir atk bonus (and tp gear with crit dmg in +2 feet). Third atma is really situational for most jobs (DDing, tanking, triggering). For war it relies on how much stp you need to complete your 5 hit with 1-2 ticks of VV and what your function in the pt is (cleaving, triggers, solo tanking, cotanking). AoA, SQ, SS, GC, and GH all have their place as third atma for a war imo.
For those with Atma of Apocalypse, does the reraise effect actually work on pets seeing as pets receive atma effects as well?
For what it's worth, I had Atma of Apoc on earlier and died when I d/c. When I logged back in, even though I still had the Atma active, I didn't recieve the RR effect. Works as you'd expect, but figured I'd post this anyway ~
Oh, I'm positive that pets (and mobs) get the "Would you like to reraise?" box, they just never click accept >_>
Except Ix-DRK. FUCK THAT GUY
Right I forgot SS is crit dmg not crit rate.
IIRC, RR + AF3+2 feet and trait should put you at 45% damage... Cavaros sets you at 48. Hmm... would Claymore or Brave grip be better in this scenario then, to max the crit damage? Leaning more towards Claymore personally.
Finally got Apocalypse today, hooooooly shit Quick Magic is awesome. Quick question though - didn't someone say that the triple attack from A&O also causes some kind of weird damage spike? I wonder if mixing A&O with Apocalypse will mess with that. Regardless, I can't wait to get on my THF again and try RR + Apocalypse + A&O (working on GH & VV still >.<)
EDIT: Would stacking said TA Atma's also be epic for pet jobs? I can't quite figure out the best set up for Garuda. Shiva is obvious as hell (Beyond Ultimate & Minikin unless you wanna hemorrhage MP, though bayiing moon could also work) but I've taken to using RR + MM + SA for Garuda lately (I don't dare use A&O on SMN... gimp HP as it is, 1 bad AoE and I'm down)
Not really sure if Stout Arm is getting the job done, but I have been landing pretty high P Claws with that set up fairly consistently (3000~3600). Would Gnarled Horn or Sanguine Scythe be a better choice than Stout Arm?
General consensus for physical blood pacts is STR/crit hit rate. As such, most go for one STR atma (Stout Arm, Voracious Violet, Harvester, etc), one crit hit rate atma (Razed Ruins, etc) and then one refresh atma (Minikin).Would stacking said TA Atma's also be epic for pet jobs? Attack does nothing for avatars, so don't think 'well Stout Arm gives 50 more attack and 10 less STR from VV, surely its the best then'. It's not. Stick with whichever atma gives the most STR like VV.
From testing on Allah Sanguine Scythe did nothing for BP damage, so Avatars have capped attack and critical hit damage naturally (weirdly) or critical attack bonus has a different cap for them than players (also unusual).
Brave Grip is junk, the Top option is sword if it doesn't break Xhit/Rose if you need it for Xhit > Claymore > other options with RR on.
What about GH though to help max crit rate on P Claws? Or would the +STR still be better?
VV + RR + A/O or Apoc works, or VV + RR + GH (for pure physical BP damage, and using w/e for keeping mp up, /rdm etc.).
any diff between cloak/dagger and sand emperor?
i've yet to see that death resist proc, but I'm sure it'll save me one day from Xibal's death spell.
Don't get hit? the -hp isn't that bad with full merit abyssites anyway, you're still with more HP than you started with with just 2 merit abyssites, much less all of them.
