While it's true that adding a 4th stud starting pitcher doesn't mean squat if the team continues to not hit (and in a playoff series, it's gonna mean even less), you cannot argue at grabbing Cliff Lee and locking him up if the price is right. Kudos to Ruben for making a move like this.

Well we only have 4 players signed past 2012 (Lee, Howard, Halladay, and Utley), and have a ton of money coming off the books after this season, so we won't be too too crippled. We also have a crap ton of very good A level prospects so if a few of them pan out it will be nice.
