Are they going to make Chapman into a starter this year or keep in the bullpen so Dusty can literally pitch him every day?
Bullpen because we didn't resign Rhodes.
Also, you're assuming he wouldn't get pitched everyday if he WAS a starter.
How many Philly fans here read 701 Level? If not, you really should be. Actually, just read it no matter who you root for. Here's today's psot:

Being a professional writer, 701 Level is too much of a grammatical mess for my liking. I'll stick to Zoo With Roy with my borderline parody/satire coverage of the Phillies.
Oh trust me, I'm a stickler for grammar and spelling too, but I don't find it funny because of that so much as the associations he makes and stock photographs he happens to find. There was a recent post where he says Dwight Howard is too tall so he's cheating and skewing his VORP and BABIP and that proper sabermetric analysis can't take place. That's the stuff that gets me.
Pitchers and catchers reporting today, woo! Not much longer now..
Thank god. I need something to distract me from the choke fest known as the San Jose Sharks
Is there a BG fantasy baseball league I can join?
Am i the only one that thinks giving Pujols 10 year / 300mil would be stupid? I would have no problem at all giving him $30mil per, but i'd have to draw the line at 5 years. You can't be paying 41 year olds 30mil a year, not any longer anyways.
If they only offer him 5/150 he's going to walk, that's pretty much a fact. He's the best player in the game, if you want someone to complain to you can bitch to Randy Levine for helping to put together A-rod's awful contract. Like it or not, that set the bar for Albert. I think St. Louis is going to have to bite the bullet and just pay the guy what he wants. Maybe it won't be as stupid as 10/300, but it's going to be up there.
I have a feeling that's exactly what he turned down a few weeks ago. My question is, who else has the ability to pay him 10/300? The Mets? That's where players over 30 go and die. Dodgers or Angels?
Rowand will be off the books after this year, Renteria is off the books, Zito only has a year left i believe. It would take a bit of creative shuffling due to Huff and Co to get Pujols to first but I could see the giants giving 30 a year for 7 years.
Yeah, plus teams that aren't "big market" would probably contemplate handing out a huge contract because of his star power. He'd almost instantly get you season ticket revenue which is a big deal for mid-market teams. I could see the Nationals, Blue Jays, Rangers, Mariners, Angels, and Braves all try to put a proposal together for him. Most of those teams have rich owners who might be inclined to make a run for him. And, as much as I hate to admit it, you can never count the Yankees out of making some ridiculous attempt to get him.
I thought about them too but they have one of the best 1B prospects in the game in Brandon Belt. He's almost ready too, Klaw recently said he expects him to be a midseason callup ala Posey. Sounded like they're invested in him which would make going after Albert seem unlikely.
Belt we may shove in the outfield, or if Pablo plays like shit again, maybe move him to third base. Anyways, with a guy like Pujols, you find ways to get him on the field.
Fred Wilpon should sell the Mets to Mark Cuban so we can sign pujols. Or the guy who owns Gorgi vodka. That family is never gonna rid themselves of the Madoff stench.
