Alright, Longoria going to hit the DL for at least 3 weeks according to Maddon and at this point I want to try and trade him for a slugger, and possibly a third basemen if someone wants to tolerate waiting for longoria to come back. Gonna update my trading block in the league, I also might be willing to part with a pitcher like Gio Gonzalez or, adding Adam LaRoche to a deal, but in that case I'd want a really really good hitter.

Everyone said he was primed to have a big year this year in TB, so I went against my better judgment and took him over a couple of other guys I was eying. Now he's hurt and I don't think the offense in tampa is going to give him enough chances to drive in runs, plus Oblique strains tend to never completely go away, and his strain sounds pretty bad. Last year there were a ton of guys who got oblique strains in similar areas and missed a ton of time. I'm not sure I'm willing to take that risk now which is why if someone else wants to take the chance on him I'd be willing to part em.

An example of that was when Jose Reyes last year suffered an Oblique strain early only to get shut down several times later in the year when it flared back up.

My last few trades fell through...but the kid who made me a trade offer earlier came through with another. He wants Lincecum, Ortiz, and Scutaro and in return id get Liriano, Alexi Rameriz, and Prince Fielder. As a bonus, if I accept the trade today id get to use Lincecum one more time in this weeks points total and also get a start from Liriano the next day (we can adjust our lineups daily).

So id be getting a big upgrade at SS, decent upgrade at DH (I don't think Papi is going to stay hot all year), but downgrading at P, although Liriano is no bum whatsoever even though he got roughed up last start. Thoughts?

Who's your current 1B? Fielder's a decent upgrade over most even if he's not 100% stud.

Right now I have Loney playing at 1st base until Kendrys Morales is healthy again. Morales and Fielder would be a nice 1st/DH combo.

Yeah I do too...its hard to not love him. But Scutaro is pretty crappy and misses a good amount of time, and in a 14 man league there's not really much out there on the waiver wire especially since SS is so weak this year. And again I really don't see Papi staying at the level he's been playing.

So the first weekend of BG fantasy baseball is over, and dear god some guys are starting slow. Obviously not panicking as there's still 158 games to go, but oye, my pitching blew.

I've been happy with all my picks except bay and Longoria. Both appear to be out longer than initially thought.

Both my teams have had some WTF moments, though my yahoo money league is head to head. Pujols hitting into 3 dp's on opening night was nuts. BG League Weeks has been my only source of power and a third of my RBI's. Fielder and Ramirez have 0 rbi's, Posey only has 1, bruce has 0 (but that's partly on me, I overslept by 5 minutes, forgot to set my team the night before), I dumped damon since I had a glut of OF and he's got a calf strain from tropicana field. Just been brutal. Pablo has been great so far though, Weeks is beasting, and I know Posey, Fielder, and Ramirez will come around. Just don't want too big of a hole to climb lol.

Ok serious question, would guys in the BG league rather I restart the league and assign players to each team to correct the mistake I made with the roster locks, or are most guys going to be able to tolerate it? I didn't get a chance to call ESPN, but it will not allow me to make the change to the way rosters lock and I know it could be a big deal to people. I realize the season is underway already, and it all depends on how people feel about it.

I can tolerate it, though I prefer individual player locks when there game starts. Sometimes you only get 30 minutes notice of a player not starting and that can hose you for a day if your backup is on the bench.

If we do restart the league though, i'd go with what the rosters are at the time of the reset instead of draft since I know plenty of people made some moves already and would hate to see some cock blocking on that.

I'd assign all the players to the teams they are currently on yea. I'm sorry I just didn't realize that setting couldn't be changed and I don't know if I will be able to change it which is why I threw this out here. I can understand both sides and I screwed up picking the most restrictive setting there was pretty much. I just need to hear if this this going to be a problem for other owners in the league or if it even matters to them.

It isn't a big deal. Just leave the league as is, recreating it and manually placing all the players could lead to other problems.

I don't mind this setup at all, since I'm not able to see who is going to start every day and make lineup changes. Being able to set my lineups a few days in advance is nice and much more relaxing over a long season.

Because of Cliff Lee, Frankie Liriano, Phil Hughes, and Edinson Volquez my ERA and WHIP are fucking awful. My team's ERA is over 6.5 after two starts lol.

What the fuck is up with Phil Hughes? I drafted Burnett and Vasquez last year and both were shit. This year I took Hughes and yeah... fuck Yankees pitching.
