Hmm, wasn't there a little break after last add-on scenario was released and before abyssea add-ons began? I wonder if they'll "take a break" from raising the level cap in March to prepare for the next set of add-ons, which also bring the level cap to 99? Perhaps even 91-93, 94-96, 97-99?

Shinryu is usually known as the super mega final... FINAL endgame boss of a few Final Fantasy games, so I expect nothing less than a level 105~110 end boss fight in FFXI. Will cry if it's a pussy.

Yeah, if you notice Shinryu is usually a serpent-dragon kind of creature which is exactly what this new boss looks like. Could be a totally new thing but It's incredibly similar. Shinryu is apparently the "bis boss" in the FF universe according to Dissidia so it's a possibility.

Isn't the state it is in Sea his full unlocked version, since you set him free of the jailers that bound him? AV can go fuck himself. Shinryu? Yes please! Make a Neo-Shinryu for lv99 if he's such a pansy by then, but fuck a refurbed AV.

I actually could see 2 versions of Shinryu popping up, since this one is story related and SE tends to not go all out on their story fights since the shitfest about CoP battles. So could see a Bahamut v1 and v2 kind of thing happening to Shinryu.

Ahhh, Appie got it. Can see their being an exclusive "Neo" version of Shinryu dropping for level 99 players (ala Behemoth/Fafnir/Adamantoise/Omega/Ultima/Bahamut/Zilart Brothers etc). Would be a waste of an awesome NPC avatar if they didn't.
