Renaming the User in Windows 7

Ever since I got my laptop back from HP they reformatted my fucking laptop for some reason even though it was only for a goddamn fan change. But anyways, when they reapplyed the OS, they Named the user "test", I didnt find that out until I loaded up my laptop with shit again and didnt wanna wipe and reinstall, is there a way to change the name, I says i don't have permission even though I'm admin, seems I need special permission

You can change the displayed/"Full" name, you can't change the actual account name/folder.

Alternatively...create a new account with whatever name you want, and move your data.

Why reformat? Create a different Admin level account, move your stuff, delete the 'test' account if it bugs you. Unless you have copious amounts of crap, it'll only take you a few minutes.

You also can try this. Open your start menu, right click on "My Computer", go to manage. Click on Local Users and Groups, and right click the admininstrator account, create a password for it, then go to properties and uncheck the disable button. This what Isiolia is basically saying, without having to create another account. You can also try renaming the user in here, although i'm not honestly sure if that will rename your user folder, but its worth a shot, as i've never tried it that way. Most of the stuff i deal with are roaming profiles so its not as simple.
