There's nothing wrong with giving Vick a McNabb style deal if he continues this performance for the rest of the season. Give him like 2 years guaranteed and 3 where the team can come and cut it early to give him nothing if he well, becomes McNabb.

That's beside the point, would you give him a long term deal if you were the GM? Do you think Jacobs' deal looks good now? Vick, like most NFL players who rely on their speed/explosiveness/legs have a short shelf life. He's far less valuable if he can't get out of the pocket and run. He's great now, but giving him a long term deal and guaranteed money (that's the main thing) is incredibly risky.

If given the non-exclusive franchise tag, other teams can negotiate, and if the original team doesn't match an offer, they receive 2 first round picks.
