Some questions about account reactivation/hacking.

So, I got an email this morning claiming that someone in california reset my Aion password, reactivated the account, and added a month of game time using a game time card.

I've not played aion in exactly 1 year (almost to the day i think). The ONLY thing I can think of, is that aionsource got their account db jacked (thats happened before right?), and they picked up my user/pass from that (yeh, they shouldn't have been the same).

Some emails to support later, and I got my account back, with a month of gametime courtesy of some random hacker in california. Has Aion changed much in the last ~year or so?

I'm also probably sure my accounts been stripped, so whats are the chances of ncsoft doing some kind of rollback?

nc will usually restore all your gear and whatever's missing, just file a petition and they'll check it out. can take anywhere from a couple days to a couple weeks depending on how busy they are, though.

Yeah, they'll get back any gear that you had before it was hacked.

And as far as changes go, there have been quite a few. If you have a free month credited on your account, you may as well give it a try in my eyes~ In the last year we've gotten patches 1.9, 2.0, and 2.1 this past Wednesday.

1.9 made leveling much faster and easier, as well as adding the armsfusion mechanic that allows you to fuse two 2hander weapons together.
2.0 was the first expansion, level cap raised to 55 and a lot of new content added.
2.1 is mostly just drop rate increase, but a substantial increase. People are getting about 2-3 times as much loot in instances, and like.. 20 times the loot on random world trash while grinding. It's incredible.

It depends on how long it's been really.

I was told that my account had been hacked too long before I had reported it, and that they couldn't do anything about it. They restored anything I had from quest rewards and gave me a million kinah and that's it.

Edit - I'm sure I can find the ticket around here somewhere.

Hello,

Due to the amount of logs Aion generates, the oldest logs are automatically removed after a certain amount of time. This is why we suggest that players report all cases of account intrusion within a couple of months.

With that being said, I’ve provided a basic set of gear to any characters on the account that require it. This should help you with getting back on your feet. I also restored a few quest rewards for your characters. I saw that your character completed the quest for the Xenophon weapon, but I wasn't sure what weapon you would prefer. Please let me know which you prefer for your character and I'll be happy to restore it.

Yeah, if you haven't reported it, I would do it now. Don't get fucked over like I did. I was away for two months and they said they couldn't restore my shit.
