Apparently there was a Gainax live commentary today, here are some of the details:

-The production for final episode is completed.
-Sushio, Animation Director of the final episode, is really fucking exhausted; he hasn't bathed in a week, they say. However, he says that he is really proud of his work and that he is expecting to WOW people in the same way he WOW-ed people with Gurren episode 15.
-They flat out called the Demon Sisters' scene yuri.
-To make up for the recap episode, they're going to add a BD/DVD-exclusive episode on the final BD release.
-The DJ at the Rock Foundation party is Taku Takahashi drawn in P&S style.
-Brief's VA said that while playing Brief in episode 12B, he made sure to feel like if he was "piloting a Gundam".
-The staff actually checks out Pixiv's fanart; they were happy when they saw today's top 10.
-To make sure to draw Panty's feelings accurately, all the scenes with Briefers and Panty were left to the female animators.
-They're releasing an art-book at the Talk Live Animated event.
-Wakabayashi and Nishigori are looking forward to the doujinshi fans come up with for C79: "Please work hard, everyone!"

And ya that crew list is crazy, supposedly they spent 40% of the budget on this last episode. I'm trying not to get my hopes up on this last episode, just to get a traditional Gainax ending, but damn is it hard.

Doubt it; Gainax usually has definite beginnings/endings and doesn't really do seasons. It might get a movie or two later, though.

So glad I picked up PSG after my finals were over, fucking awesome, pity were only getting 13 eps out of this, though looking forward to DVD/BD extras. So far on the second time viewing I'm catching a lot of shit I missed visually since I don't need to pay as close attention to the subtitles.

Meh, it's probably better off at 13 episodes. The earlier episodes were ridiculously awesome with the series progressively getting lamer and lamer.

I dunno. Some of the 'less awesome' episodes were still fairly awesome. I know people thought "Chuck to the Future" was lame, but I dunno. Looking back.. it was sort of epic.
