lol, didn't know the relevance of those 2 pics before the template was posted.
So I downloaded all of the episodes, but some of the subtitles are in awkward positions or colors. All of the streaming sites that I've ever seen with it have really easy to read subtitles that I much prefer. Anybody know what set that is or where I could download them?
I have a [Horrible Subs] set and the subtitles leave something to be desired. Unless I'm missing a codec or something? When I play it with DivX the subs aren't easy to read like the streams.
You're definitely missing something because I don't think anyone in this thread is having the same issues you're having.
Been using this for years and it hasn't failed me yet.

I use mediaplayerclassic and vobsub from the cccp codec pack, and vobsub lets you change font/color/size/position of subs. Horriblesubs should be using softsubs as well so should be possible. Check your task bar for whichever program is handling the subs and check to see if you can change it.
Yeah, that fixed it. Thanks! Now I can enjoy the absurdity.
CCCP didn't play nice with Windows 7 x64 for a long time, it looks like they finally updated it in October (previous version was 2 years old iirc) so it might work now, but I have been using Shark007 codecs since switching to w7. Most of what is actually in it is the same as CCCP though, and if I had to start over I probably use the new version of CCCP, but atm shit ain't broke so not going to bother.
Yeah i couldn't see subs at all until I installed that codec as well, which is odd because until this I'd never had a problem playing anything on my computer. I think that they just used something goofy for the subtitles, as a friend usually watches crap on his 360 and it wont play the subtitles either.
Using anything other than CCCP is autofail in my book.
Vlc ftw
Chocolat
Most people didn't know that they were releasing updated versions about every month or two. They were listed under the beta section of the site because every update was minor- but with codecs a minor update can mean a world of difference. I expect the people who didn't get it to work were just downloading the sept 2009 version. CCCP is all you need: Installed it when I build this desktop and updated it's version every now and then and I have not had any problems. (Well, I had one.. but it eventually got fixed by an update.)
As for subs, I personally used Underwater and was very pleased. Everyone who watches anime should have http://ji-hi.net bookmarked for comparing subs. I personally go through all the anidb comments for the sub groups and then cross reference it with ji-hi and use that to decide which subs to use.
I wanted to give this a view but idk if I want to deal with the inevitable explanation I'd have to give my g/f when she eventually sees me watching it lol![]()
DO IT, BITCH
Make her watch it too?
She asks too many questions to watch shit with, especially stuff like this. Explaining Gundam is rough enough as is.![]()
Finally got around to finishing the last two episodes. Ahahahahaha
So sad it's overneed more
