Once you get used to it you'll realize how much better it is(ten million times better). I remember having that same issue coming from FFXI to WoW.

Although the type of mouse you're using might play into it. My friend gave me his old Razer Copperhead and I ended up buying a new one once it finally broke down because I couldn't stand going back to a normal mouse. It actualls hurts my hand now to use a normal mouse, I have to have the little indentations to wrap my fingers under.
