    Razer Nostromo

    The Nostromo is back!

Looks like Razer bought Belkin's design (it looks exactly like the n52e lol) and is now going to be making this nice toy (alternate to the G13 by Logitech):

Think you've been gaming on the PC for awhile? If you can't vividly remember gushing over this thing (and scrounging up pennies from under the couch in order to finance one), move along. If, however, you're still the proud owner of an attic-bound Belkin Nostromo n52, you can definitely prepare yourself for a healthy dose of nostalgia here. After co-developing Belkin's n52te Speedpad a few years ago, it looks as if Razer has now fully taken over the gamepad by today introducing the Nostromo. Yeah, just Nostromo. The design is certainly a familiar one, boasting a 16-button keypad, a soft-touch rubberized wrist pad, 16 fully-programmable Hyperesponse gaming buttons and an eight-way directional thumb pad. As for improvements, you'll get the ability to switch instantly between eight keymaps (up from three), and the flexibility of storing up to twenty gaming profiles (up from the previous limit of ten). It's available to order now for $69.99 / €69.99, with an estimated ship date of November 29th worldwide. You know, in plenty of time to stuff your own stocking.
Really glad to see Razer taking this over. I know they'll do it right and actually have updated windows support. The problem with the old n52te is it wasn't supported after WinXP so everyone who wanted a gamepad had to pickup a G13. I personally love the G13 over this one, but everyone's hand/wrists are a bit different, but the Nostromo always had the coolest look to me. Check this out at Bestbuy if you want to get a real feel for it!

Hopefully they fixed the d-pad on this, as the one on the 52te wasn't true 8-way, and hence was utter shit.

That was such a big consideration when I was purchasing a gamerpad. It made the difference between the n52te and the G13 for me.

Wut? Pretty sure I recall using my n52te on vista/7. Would be neat of razer's software would work on the belkins.

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

You get a fuckton more keys on the g13 than this, so I'd say they aren't really comparable. Really what will get people to buy this over the g13 is if the price is lower and/or if people don't want too many buttons.

I have fucking small hands (my ring finger is a 4 1/2), and the g13 still sits comfortably for me. so comfort shouldn't be an issue imo (unless it's like they are tricking themselves because of the size).

I've read a lot of people had problems with it vista and onwards. Never had any personal experience with it just saying what I heard.

Definitely more keys on the G13. In terms of hand size, I find the G13 comfortable, but a friend of mine with much larger hands does not.
