lol I like how this comparison tries to take into consideration that people getting assistance are taking advantage of it in some way shape or form. That right there kills any credibility this dude had. Hes also forgotten the meaning of disposable income somewhere within his little rant.
Now I do see the taking advantage part every single day and its pretty disgusting (morons living in the projects while driving Escalades) but then you bump into someone that is getting govt assistance with a shitty min. wage job that can barely cover their already reduced rent. You don't have to witness that first hand to see that the person who wrote this is full of shit.
i present this thread as my case for implementing a sage function on bg (and every other messageboard).

Do you realize how incredibly easy it is to turn EBT into actual cash? I worked at a grocery store for years, and while they were careful as hell about making sure there were no exceptions on sliding something through, I also regularly saw people buy things for someone else and then sell it for cash, because they had a sob story. And, I know damn well that people who are on EBT have a much higher budget for food than I have, so it's not like it's getting cash at the expense of eating. While I grant that other packages there aren't easily liquid, EBT fraud and misuse is rampant, and it's easy as hell to accomplish. This isn't a claim that everyone does it, but it's far from uncommon.
Really, most of your point is valid, but I find it amusing that the most easily liquid thing on the list is the one thing you pointed out.
Yes we should let poor people starve because some of them are dishonest.
wtf is this shit?
