Anyone else on BG participate in whatpulse? For those who've never heard of it:

WhatPulse opens a so-called "keyhook" when it's booted, which listens to incoming Windows messages about the keyboard, the keyhook sends these messages to the program itself, and the program first determines if the key pressed is a proper key (Every standard keyboards' keys are counted) and then simply does PreviousKeyCount + 1.

Pulsing: When you "pulse", you're actually sending your keycounts in the program to the server along with other information about your Account, so the server can decide where to put the keycount. If the pulse goes according to plan, the server sends back an "OK", and the client's keycount is reset to 0 (zero), and your previous keys are added to your profile in the server database!

And for all you people who are thinking "oeh mi god a keylogger, no way!", well, exactly, No way. WhatPulse is not and never will be any sort of keylogger, it does not collect the keys you type, but only how many keys you type. (see our Privacy Policy)

I've been using this program for years, and my team has become mostly inactive. It's a safe program and I've never had any lost accounts due to it. Anyone here on BG interested in setting up a BG team and climbing the ladders? It'd be awesome to get a BG team going and seeing how the FFXI/V elite stack up against everyone else.

Eanae has been a participant since 2005-01-26 (75 months ago), and in that time has typed 51,027,229 keys, clicked 14,067,958 times and moved his or her mouse for 894.17 miles. Averaging 0.28 keys and 0.08 clicks per second.

It's a clean program. I don't keep up with it very much, but it's one of the things I always install.

Random fun. It's always good for a cheep laugh seeing how many keys on average you've been typing. It's been on every PC I've worked with (outside of work and classroom PCs). No real harm having it running in the background. It doesn't pull any bit of noticeable resource.

Yes. It doesn't record what keys are typed. It only recognizes key pushes and does count + 1. When you "pulse" all it does is send whatever count is.
