Magic > Active Effects to see your boosts/handicaps

To remove it visit a shrine. Many can be found in cities. Others, such as the one in the theives guild, will also remove disease.

Thanks. I checked those spots again and they aren't there on my game. So maybe it's a glitch, or they don't appear until certain quests or story progress. I wonder. I'm still only early off in the main quests I haven't dug into it yet.

Hmm that is possible Gwyn. I know I have run into a few. I could swear that it was before I actually went and talked to the Stormcloaks though... There must be an event that has to be seen by you maybe to trigger those camps popping up? Odd though, because I am not far into the actual story either. I think I have done maybe TWO story Quests. Three tops.

Now I'm too overpowered and really don't need anything in the game item-wise. I don't feel the motivation to go to X NPC that gives me a quest to go clear out Y dungeon somewhere for an item that I won't need/use =/

I am really liking the Thieves Guild and the Dark Brotherhood quest lines for their stories. Regardless of any items you may get from them that you don't think you need, you could still power through and see some great dungeons/story yeah? Otherwise, if you aren't interested in sightseeing or sidestories I don't think there could be much left in it for you.

straight up told me that if I don't kill Parthuunax (sp), then they won't help me. No ifs or buts from what I've seen so you literally have no say in the matter if you want the Blades on your side, which is pretty shitty.

I understand that. Did you do any of the guild quest lines though? The Thieves and Dark Brotherhood quests are not the formulaic "clear out X dungeon" quests. They are more like the sneak in undetected, infiltrate a house through the sewers, detect guards through walls, crack a safe, burn property, then escape, quests. They are much more nuanced and leave room for complications and creativity. (Just don't take your companion along).

They're more like Elder Scrolls: Splinter Cell and Elder Scrolls: Hitman.

Well, my plan was to play with another character, a mage type, on the PC with spiffy mods...but in like 2 years when an average PC plays Skyrim really well...

Also, it sucks...I hit 100 enchanting, even got the double-enchant perk, but AFTER my motivation to play left me. So I have yet to double-enchant something =/

I didn't. They sound cool. I think I'll ride this wave though--I had the game from the 2nd of the month, ended last week, and logged in something stupid like 90 hours...I think I'm best off taking a break actually

The one good part is that when I do come back in a little while, I'll have the 80% remainder of the game (like the Thieves' Guild / DB quests) to go through.

I didn't kill Paarthunaax for my own reasons, though I didn't go back to the Blades to see what they'd say about it. Nor have I been to the Throat of the World again since I've left. I'm half-hoping there's a DLC that comes out called "The Rise of Paarthunaax" or some junks, where he leads the dragons against you. Would be fun, even if it's a little bit of the same story.

It's entirely not necessary in any way, I haven't gone through any Blades quests yet so I'm not even sure if there's anything good from them though, but for main quest etc, completely not needed

Filled soul gems will be used if you select the weapon on the weapon menu and press recharge

I play a stealth dual wielder without my bow leveled and dragons are still easy. It's really just a matter of using cover until they land, stunning them with UF and than wailing on their wings. But yeah, no way to stealth a dragon as far as I'm aware.

I was actually able to find one asleep at night near a dragon wall, and I was able to two shot it with sneak attacks. It was just a normal vanilla dragon, but I was surprised to catch it napping.

hmm seems like the update killed the ability for tes to use more then 2gb of ram. that large address aware mod doesn't seem to work anymore.

the more effects a potion has the more it levels you up. and I think it's exponential, too - two 1-effect potions will give less experience than one 2-effect potion. I'm not 100% since I haven't like, tested it or anything, but I seem to get massive level-ups with 2-effect or 3-effect potions.
