What do you do after you've found all three items for the Forbidden Legend quest? I can't tell if I am missing something or if it's glitched because all my current objectives are complete and there's no more quest marker.

is that the one with the three pieces of the gauldur amulet? you have to head to a certain location and reforge the amulet. the location should be marked, but I don't remember the name offhand - sorry. I can check when I get home tonight if you're still stuck.

Yeah, it's the three amulet pieces... apparently finding the third while on the Mages' College quest in Saarthal confused the game and won't tell me where to reforge it.

Ah, Reachwater Rock apparently... I believe I cleared that dungeon ages ago. :\

yeah, reachwater. you should still be able to go in and reforge it though? I would imagine so anyway. and the reward is so worth it, because a) the amulet gives +30 hp/mp/stamina and b) it's glitched so you can still equip a second neck piece

Oh. Well that's cool. Honestly, I'd figured it was worthless, since I already had an amulet with +25 Heavy Armor and +40% Block damage. I ended up disenchanting most of the stuff you get from that quest line for the rare effects. Absorb Magicka is nice.

Anyone know about modding for consoles? Apparently it's possible with a "death-kit?"

I think it was said that the progress rate goes up quite a bit if your ingredients give multiple effects.

But yeah I make use of the trainers as much as I can lol.

I've also heard that the companion doesn't level up with you but stays at the level s/he joined you. Also my atronarchs are even worse, frost giant keeps getting stuck in every single rock.

Anyone has ever used Aela the Huntress as a companion? Decided to use one and I like her attitude lol.

Multiple effects, eating, even rare ingredients give a bigger return.

You want alchemy for the disgusting 2-3-4 effect potions, the ability to craft health and magicka potions on the cheap, and as a source of income. The same three-effect health potion that's worth ~200 becomes ~600 if you made it with a Giant's toe. No change in effects, just rarer ingredients.

Despite all that knowledge, alchemy is slow as hell to level. Seek training, especially pre-50, especially in areas you rarely use.

I read something a few pages ago about increasing your smithing skill with a potion to upgrade daedric armor to Epic. Where do I find/how do I make that potion? My daedric is at legendary and I can't make it any better even at 100 skill.

Legendary is over Epic, but with enchantments and potions you can push legendary even further.

Is there any point in using Light Armor in ES5? I've stuck to mostly Elven/Glass in Morrowind and Oblivion because I felt it was better for my magic-heavy playstyle, but is it worth focusing on Heavy Armor so you can take advantage of Smithing goodness?

You can still smith light armor, including dragon armor, not sure of the issue, what am I missing?

i mean more of a usage standpoint, I guess I never really was much of a Heavy Armor user in previous ES games because of the weight/slower speed and because I didn't feel like it fit with my mage characters... but it seems like in ES5 everyone is wearing Heavy Armor, so I'm wondering if there's someone who understands the pros/cons of Heavy vs. Light armor and wants to share.

Not sure what the deal is, but im crashing to the desktop every 10minutes now while playing my assassin character, didn't happen this frequently when I started the game last week... has there been any fix as of late?

Also does the silent foot perk in the stealth tree mean you can run and not make any noise and don't have to crouch?

I have a stealth / archery character Atreides and I haven't touched Heavy Armor unless it is to Disenchant it. I use Light only.

It's pretty simple as far as I can tell, light armor makes it easier to sneak but doesn't provide as much protection, heavy armor provides superior protection but makes you more noisy. And obviously the differences in weight.

    No idea.

Silent foot lets you run while crouched and not take a stealth penalty. I bet you've never tried "walking while crouched" - it's much, much quieter. Silent foot lets you ignore that.

No you can't stand up and run around and be stealthy.

Absolutely, I use it. Also, you've got the new levelling system all confused. There's no grinding to make sure you get a +5 when you level - it's free-flowing plus perks.

Frankly I never tried heavy armor yet. And I'm not exactly frail - with alteration for Stoneflesh, I have a respectable amount of defence. I make sure to use the most ballin' light armor possible, and make sure it's smithed to the max, however.

Create it. I make Fortify Smithing potions, and they let you push the envelope for a bit past 100

You can't run while crouched/sneaking... unless Silent Foot simply enables that.

Unless of course you're talking about simply not holding shift. Either way, if your Sneaking is even high enough to purchase Silent Foot, you don't need to be holding shift to be silent. Even less so if you have any of the Thief or Assassin boots.
