anyone planning on doing ice only on mage, be aware that a good portion of bandit's are nords so they take less dmg from ice magic, and dwarven constructs are completely immune to frost damage.

i really wanted to, along with conjuration to make a necromancer type build but this is pretty much the reason i didn't. That and the other things like ice wraiths that are immune to frost. Really frost spec is useless in skyrim, kinda disappointed by that.

At least it fits the lore. It must have been an interesting decision to have reached in the design stages. Make the game more diverse/balanced, or acknowledge the fact that the vast majority of people/monsters in Skyrim are going to be nords or Ice-based? Personally, I'm glad they took the route that they did, even if it meant devaluing Ice specs.

Fire only works well, aslong as you don't get too frustrated if you miss with fireballs alot, because apprentice/adept spells are both fireball types, i haven't reached expert yet, but missing constantly can be a huge annoyance, especially when your gear is sub par because you've been too busy messing around to enchant anything :D

Can anyone point in the way to purchase higher level spells? I know how master are obtained, currently Lv.80 destruction magic and kinda pissed that my best spell is Fireball :/ I know Ice isn't that useful and thunders situational awesome but still, kinda frustrating.

I was told Enthir would but he's either pissed off at me or just is ignoring me, the only option I have with him is "What's not allowed here" and if I speed through it theres nothing else that shows up after it.

I got all my spells from Faralda at the college, try her or the mage at the Jarl of Whiterun's place.

So I'm getting my Nightingale armor for the first time and an Imperial Courier just runs in, tells me to join the army and runs out, lol...

The court mage at the Jarl of Solitudes palace will sell you spells as well, she also trains in destruction magic. All of the court mages will sell spells, but I believe she has more destruction spells available.

...yes. The best part as I've never even seen this dude in all my earlier playthroughs, and so my first time ever seeing this NPC is in Nightingale Hall.

He's sold to me, but he'll only sell in his room, or in Winterhold. He might also only sell after uhh Arneil I think? His quest line.

So I ran my new assassin character to Riftun to do some crap there, I was doing the pickpocket+plant ring on the guy quest and there's an NPC standing there that just challenges me to a mage duel because he thinks I said I was a badass mage or something..and he won't take no for an answer lol, I had to run around the entire town shooting him with arrows and hiding then sneak attacking him to finally drop the fucker, he had tons of health.

During the quest The World-Eater's Eyrie, after I set Odahviing free, everyone in the area starts fighting him again and I can't speak to him to progress the quest. >_> None of them can die, so this just goes on forever.
Am I doing something wrong?

talked to him while he was locked up until he promised to take me to Sovngarde, then went upstairs when the quest marker changed and asked the guard to release him. I don't know why they'd attack him, unless you're releasing him without completing the conversation with him or something.

Oh yeah, I got this guy randomly shopping in Riften. I look up and the entire town is being slaughered to a man by this lightning guy.

So I reload because... well everyone is dead. And the guy is gone.

Well, that's settled. So out I go towards Windhelm, and I get to Shor's Stone, when all of a sudden

It was a big fight. Fucker nearly killed me with his Shock spells, but once I caught him, Elemental Fury + Dual Wield is like

So he got pwned.

The shitty part about Efury is you're using your shout to do supreme damage, but it doesn't help you close the distance with your foe (the period of time where you do 0 dmg and get raped alot). You could have used Whirlwind sprint instead.

Yeah, news to me too. When I went to start the Thieves' Guild missions post-Mage Guild, I was approached by him. So much for being a 1v1 duel - Lydia opened up on him immediately. No consequences.
