Even if you hate it, the amount of hours you'll put into it before deciding you hate it for sure will be worth it.

Which I have, I just don't care to carry it around with me everywhere. My question was whether or not there's anything in the game at all that really makes waterbreathing important whatsoever outside the occasional sunken ship (which can be looted with the assistance of a HP potion or two).
(You can also just drink a waterbreathing potion too.)
Absolutely not. I mostly just use my Argonian waterbreathing to go for the "feel" of a stealthy approach by water sometimes, haven't really seen any instance where it's significant.
SSDs > * !
Been playing like crazy and something weird happened (shocking, right?!)
About 60 hours in, on new years, I shut down and went to bed. Wake up and graphics glitches out the fucking ass. You name it, it happened. Purple wonderland with green snow? check. Character is the focus of xray vision through all materials? check. Bladed horizontal snow of death? check.
Spent like 4-5 hours trying to fix it before saying fuck it and deleting all my drivers and re-installing. Finally fixed it, but goddamn.
Fyi, Greatsword for lyfe.
I ♥ greatswords. So many hilarious decapitations. If only I could pick up the heads afterwards.
Anyone try a hand-to-hand play through?
I played further into the game with my hybrid mage/h2h cat than any other character so it's doable. Straight h2h might be slightly harder, but should be doable. Might need some sort of ranged attack to get dragons to land. I got bored waiting for them to land sometimes and started chucking fireballs at them to get them to land, then fist them to death.
You can do that, though the physics are kinda fucked up for detached heads. I was more thinking, discrete objects that could be taken into your inventory.
Hand to hand gets pretty ridiculous if you abuse heavy armor, smithing, and enchanting. Get the Unarmed perk in heavy armor, get some legendary daedric gauntlets, put unarmed damage and, I dunno, heavy armor or something, and see if you need any other armor at all.
[edit] Being a khajiit is icing on this triple chocolate cake.
Since the previous games have been mentioned, if anyone is interested in picking Oblivion up (for PS3 or 360):

Has anyone found any mods for male underwear that isn't nude? I want better looking underwear than that loincloth, but going full nude is eh.
I belive unarmed is bugged though. Well, at least, it's only the base rating of the gauntlets that counts towards damage, so improving them doesn't so anything damage wise. Suppose not sure if this is intended or not.
Nah, I play and alt-tab all the time. What happened was I shut down and went to bed, when I got up everything was so FUBAR'd, I couldn't walk 10feet w/o graphics card resetting.
Was just flat weird.
ok, that little snot running around whiterun just followed me INTO MY OWN HOUSE to tell me how she's not afraid of anyone and blah blah blah
might have to get that killable children mod, because she needs to die and stay dead
So ever since I switched from the non-updated crack to the current patch on steam I think I've run into more bugs than were fixed. I had a dragon not give me a soul, so that's still a semi-rare bug. But really the thing that annoys me the most is holding arrow keys won't scroll down lists anymore. wasd works, but arrow keys will only go one thingy max.
Anybody else having this problem? It make using my gazillions of alchemy ingredients really annoying to use.
