Awesome, will have to try that out.

I bought Skyrim for the 360 specifically so I'd have the PC version to buy in 4 years when Steam has the GOTY version for $5 and my next video card can run it easily. All these mods get me excited for 2016!
This pretty much.I bought Skyrim for the 360 specifically so I'd have the PC version to buy in 4 years when Steam has the GOTY version for $5 and my next video card can run it easily. All these mods get me excited for 2016!
Skyrim is quite easy on video cards. But yeah, without the mods there isn't too much difference between the consoles and the PC. Heck, unlike Oblivion it seems like they've optimized it for playing with a controller this time.
Is my game bugged?
Swords and shit with enchantments that I find off NPCs are running out of charges.
Example: Just got the Nightingale blade and Chillrend and they are both out of charges. Is this supposed to happen? Can I recharge them?
Use a soul gem to replenish charged weapons.
Even if I don't have te enchantment? The nightingale won is pretty specific. I thought enchanted items that weren't player created had infinite charges
Yeah every enchanted weapon, player created or not, needs to be recharged afaik. Just use up a soul gem and recharge it and you're good to go.
Oddly enough though, Lydia seems to have an infinite amount of charges on staffs I give her
If on PC, go to your inventory and press, uh... T? I think? While highlighting the weapon and it'll let you consume a filled soul gem to recharge it.
If on console, just highlight the weapon in your inventory and it should say off to the side what button to press to recharge it.
Unless, of course, you "abuse" Enchanting. Reducing the casting cost of a school of magic makes weapon enchantments from that school cost less, yea even unto the zeroeth percent.
So what's a good place to take a break in the storyline to do everything else in the game? I'm in the middle of Dragon Rising, have my first shout unlocked, and haven't gone back to the Jarl yet.
If you go back to the Jarl, I believe that's the point which will unlock dragons in the world, so if you wanna encounter them, you can do that and then stop with the story.
Personally, I think the ideal place to stop is after killing the second named dragon at the dragon graveyard. This gives you access to the Greybeard's "Word Finding" deal, and increases the number of dragons in the world. It's pretty easy to roll in cash through killing dragons and selling off the mats. You don't really need to save any for Dragon armor now since you'll end up with more than enough later on.
I waited to finish the main quest until I had done everything else, and the last boss went down in one dual power attack sequence... Finish the main quest first, then dick around. Frankly, if you're going to do the Dark Brotherhood quests, I'd save that for last -- it was all downhill from there, for me. Though you may want to at least join, for the shrouded armor and the Word in the Sanctuary.
I'd say, once you have the quest dragon fight in Kynesgrove under your belt, and you've returned the horn to the Greybeards, join the College and/or the Thieves' Guild. The Companions are alright, too. Work on those, work on the main quest when you get tired of their errands or happen to be in the area.
Doing the guild quests, and running through the main story, should pass you through a lot of interesting places. Explore them! Every time you find a Word, make sure you get another search quest from the Greybeards. Do any daedric quests you come across, they're usually worth it (whether dual wielding or combined with a spell, I loved Mehrunes' Razor and Dawnbreaker).
Once you feel you're established, and have a decent power level, and a nice selection of Words, stop everything else and finish the main quest. Then resume dicking around while you fight on one side of the war.
When you feel like you've done most everything there is to do, finish the Dark Brotherhood. It makes a nice culmination, in my view.
Alternately, I'd suggest if you're playing as a thief/assassin/sneaky type character, complete the Dark Brotherhood questline before anything else, even Thieves Guild.

Okay, I'll grant the above.

I did the dark brotherhood quest first, which really killed the mood of the game for me. With what you do at the end, you'd really expect a drastic shift in the mood of almost every NPC, but no one seems to care.
