Is there any disadvantage to being a werewolf other than not getting the skillup bonus after resting? After finding out that you can only be a vampire or werewolf and not both, I'm going Team Jacob.

Pretty much this. You get immunity to carrying potions of cure disease for the cost of no resting skillup bonus. The werewolf form becomes a death sentence very quickly as you level. You get stripped of all weapons and armor, and you can't use any spells or shouts, except for the werewolf howl(s). I put that in parentheses because I've never been able to trigger the post-Companions howl quests from Aela (or the cure-Vilkas/Farkas quests), so yeah.
[e] As long as I'm here... I guess I've never felt any need for some dunce with a sword getting in the way of my spells, or some clumsy oaf screwing up my sneaking, so I've never actually used a Companion outside of forced quests (Companions, main quest, etc). Do they provide much other than carrying space and an arrow shield? I guess they have conversational dialogue while you explore?
They're coming
MM skyrim is still early stage (Bethesda hasn't yet released the world editor), but this was a genius mod for oblivion that added shit I wouldn't even think up. Magic carpets. Rockslides. The ability to take one enemy and yourself to an Astral Plane for a mano a mano battle to the death, even if you're surrounded by Golems. Crazy magic
I've caught them napping before too![]()
I'm so far enjoying Midas Magic. It's a tad broken, though -- I could see it being very useful and possibly slightly more balanced without the ability to enchant 0mp cost onto armor. I think I saw another mod on the Steam Workshop that changed what the fortify school enchantments do, increasing potency or duration instead of reducing MP cost. I kinda like the idea.
How come full Forsworn armor doesn't get the Matched outfit perk? Or did my game fuck up?
In order for an armor set to get the Matched Set perk, it has to have an ArmorMaterial[x] set to it in the data files. Forsworn doesn't. Neither do several specialty sets; dark brotherhood, nightingale, falmer.
Speaking of, it was relatively simple to create enchantmentless Nightingale armor (still working on what I can do with the hood; enabling circlets seems to make argonian snouts appear). Recipes were pretty easy, too, and tempering formulae. I made it require Advanced Armor perk. It needs to be under the Light tree, but not too low, and glass doesn't fit it.
For the recipe, I'm not entirely sure what to put. I bumped up the defense just a bit, so I think I might be justified in leather, 2-6 nightshades, and 1 daedra heart each. Calling it Nightshade Armor, hey why not. I'm not sure how to temper. Leather seems like too little, daedra hearts too much. How does 4-8 nightshade per temper sound?
Also have a lovely functioning Jagged Crown, or Dragon Crown here, which requires a dragonplate helm and 8 dragon bones to make. Made it part of the Dragonplate set so it'll get matched bonuses from that... not that anyone in dragonplate is going to be struggling to hit defense cap.
I've got an idea for a mod involving "disenchanting" Daedric Artifacts... but using Arcane Smithing, into the base object. So you could get Dawnbreaker, strip off the innate enchantments, and reenchant it with whatever you want. My recipe for that, at the moment, is 3 empty black soul gems, 10 daedra hearts, and the item in question. It shouldn't be easy or trivially done.
Skyrim mods from the devs.

FUCK.
Spoiler: show
If even half that stuff gets implemented either by the devs or by modders i'll be super happy. I feel bad for console people.
I feel bad for me too, but I knew what I was losing =( Very awesome shit there, very awesome. I can't wait to see what is out there in a month or two.
HNM's
Dat crab O.o
Damn that giant crab looked like it would have been fun to fight, ontop of all the arrow enchantments which I think should have been in the game day one to further enhance archers play stylejust not a giant nuke going off on landing.
One of the biggest things that annoyed me as an archers what inability to craft arrows. I wish they would have added that as an actual feature in one of the updates like they did for 4GB Skyrim. Those dev mods were awesome a whole though.
Here's to hoping the devs played with actual stealth gameplay mods (more than just Thief elemental arrow rip-offs).
Also, it's odd that multiple developers at Bethesda obviously thought about having actually dark areas and they even made light-emitting spells and torches... yet nothing in the game wasn't lit up like the 4th of July.
turn down your brightness and say that again. when i first started the default brightness was totally too dark for me to play comfortable so i maxed it.
Well hello there...
