had this preordered since forever but idk if i want to go through another bethesda launch glitch fest, might just pick up saints row 3 and get this in a few weeks after they patch it, fuck, what to do

Were the glitches ever actually preventing you from doing things in-game? Because I've been playing through Oblivion on xbox (unpatched) and I'm down to my last 2 achievements for vanilla game and the only real things that have pissed me off were things that would happen way late game. Chest where I was storing some of my stuff got reset. Couldn't fast travel after doing one quest and so I had to walk there. Minor inconveniences. Point is none of this would keep me from enjoying Skyrim until a patch.

Open world games will have glitches.. as long as theres nothing game breaking im fine with it.

The games dont need to be modded to hell to be good either, modding just makes it better... like Quake Or Halflife.

Testing for glitches in an open world is pretty... Impossible to say the least. You just can't compete with millions of people playing and "testing" your initial release before you release the game. It's impossible. That being said, I have found a few glitches in Fallout 3 and NV but nothing that was game breaking. Floating alien and mobs glitching into a wall were pretty lol actually.

No idea, people are stupid. Bethesda games have always been superb out of the box (minus New Vegas but i blame obsidian for that). Mods are great on their own but they aren't necessary at all.

Yeah I think this thread could use a little more blind praise and fake leaks, that's the kind of riveting discussion we all need.

Even ignoring cosmetics and extra content, recent Bethesda games have consistently been much more polished with mods than without. For those of us who aren't huge fans of the series there's absolutely no draw to jumping in on day 1 when you can wait for any annoying bugs or bad mechanics to be fixed for free, and probably get the game itself cheaper. Nevermind the fact that it's being released during the holiday season and there are tons of other big titles to tide people over.
