For all you people getting it on the PC, do you plan to play with good ol' keyboard and mouse, or are you using a gamepad/ps3/xbox controller?

WASD For life
controller probably. Just because I played Oblivion on 360. I'll switch over if it doesn't feel responsive enough, though.
Blockbuster went into bankruptcy. But counter to what casual opinion and fear mongering politicians want you to think bankruptcy doesn't mean a company ceases to exist, they just restructure and are forced to do better.
So it sounds like from the early reviews that Skyrim really lives up to the hype so far? It's not gonna be another FFXIV? How is the story? Is it more generic unoriginal crap about kings blahblah and destiny blahblah and swords and dragons etc?
Review embargo ends in the morning. Really looking forward to checking out reviews all day instead of working!
I'm pretty bummed about a long day of work tomorrow followed by a concert. I'm borderline considering dipping out on the show...
true that. I never even "beat" Oblivion after several hundred hours across multiple characters. hell, the only quest line I ever completed to the end was the Mage's Guild, and only once.
anyone else already thinking about what kind of character they want to run? I'm not sure yet but I'm thinking I will be using Restoration for sure. some of the perks on that skill tree are looking head and shoulders above the other trees. 25% more magika regeneration up to 3 levels, auto-restore once per day upon reaching critical health, absorb magika from incoming spells, so much awesomeness.
curious about smithing too. I usually used Armorer in Oblivion anyway, and being able to smith your own armor makes it all the more worthwhile.
ooooh and I just checked out Lockpicking... seems really boring except "Treasure Hunter - Requires 70: 50% greater chance of finding special treasure." FUCK YES.
the other skill trees look interesting but Restoration's the only one that really made think "hell yes."
This game will unlock in approximately 21 hours, Amazon sent mine by courier, hoping it'll arrive tomorrow, and gonna try an archery character first, then some 2 handed weapon user, and finally a conjurer, whatever i like best is the one i'll pump most of my time into, cannot wait.
Big world.
Spoiler: show
Midnight release tomorrow night. Aww yeah.
So, so, so hyped. I'm gonna find a nice dark lager, sit down with my stein and play until I pass out tomorrow night. I ordered the CE guide from Amazon since it's only $23 compared to $40 at Gamestop.
Probably going Archer as my first character with Sneak, Lockpicking, Smithing (supposedly they can craft arrows), and some light Restoration perks as well. Kind of a Ranger character I suppose? May need to pick up some one-handed perks as well if I can't exclusively bow people down. Was going to go Bosmer but I'm afraid they'll look way too god damn ugly. I guess we'll see what happens when I get my hands on the character creator Friday.
The other type of character I would go would be Sword and Shield + Heavy Armor person. Typical Knight/Paladin character most likely.
god damn 40 bucks for a guide? the thing must be huge, hardcover, and plated in silver and gold.I ordered the CE guide from Amazon since it's only $23 compared to $40 at Gamestop.
