It's 650ish pages and hardcover, yeah. Sadly, no silver and gold. =/

Also, I believe they took out the confused turtle, as dual-wielding shields was being called. You can bet there's gonna be a PC mod for it, though.

Probably going Archer as my first character with Sneak, Lockpicking, Smithing (supposedly they can craft arrows), and some light Restoration perks as well. Kind of a Ranger character I suppose? May need to pick up some one-handed perks as well if I can't exclusively bow people down. Was going to go Bosmer but I'm afraid they'll look way too god damn ugly. I guess we'll see what happens when I get my hands on the character creator Friday.

The other type of character I would go would be Sword and Shield + Heavy Armor person. Typical Knight/Paladin character most likely.

lockpicking definitely looks viable in this game. much more useful than Oblivion (even if there is a Skeleton Key, the treasure hunter perk makes the whole skillset worthwhile imo).

you should make that first character and call him Aragorn

Never played a previous Elder Scrolls iteration, got amped over the last few weeks from this thread and gameplay videos, and just purchased off Steam and preloaded for immediate midnight action. Haven't been excited about a single player game outside of Zelda in a while.

If it's true that the game caps at level 50, I take it that you can only get 50 perks (unless you get some double-perk bonus?). While that may seem like a lot, every tree seems to have ~13 perks, and I know in my case, I went with a straightforward warrior on this runthrough. I have my main few skills that translate in Oblivion's level model for warrior (One-handed, Block, Heavy Armor, Smithing), but then I have Alchemy, Enchanting, Archery, and Lockpicking all pretty close to where those are.

And I'm totally specialized, so it's not that I am "wasting" perk points on stuff I don't use with high regularity...

I'm really hoping that you get more than 50-perks...or at least you get +2 each level near the end.

doesn't cap at 50, it just becomes a lot harder to level up after 50.

it is like 650+ pages and hard cover and comes with an online database you can access.

I'll be playing all night sipping my freshly homebrewed Imperial IPA (it tastes amazing. if you've had Ninkasi's Tricyrahops, it tastes very similar).

I just hope it'll play alright on my laptop. Specwise, I meet at least the minimum (Core 2 Duo 2.5 GHz, 4GB) but my concern is my video card, a GeForce 8700M GT w/ 256MB. Can anyone theorize whether I'll run into complications or not? I'm sure I won't get the best out of it's graphics potential, but it will run fine on more reasonable settings, right?
