Sitting outside gamestop in thefreezing 33 degree northwest night air, in a line that stretches more than a block. Not doing this bullshit again lol. Be worth it though.

All right, so just finished my first puzzle dungeon, Folgunthur, with great rewards. This dungeon is located just a bit NW of Morthal. The entrance is near the quest where you need to investigate the Bard's College. I did this at level 3-4. I highly suggest everyone doing this as this gives you(spoilered if you want it as a surprise):
Spoiler: show
Freaking Amazon. They oversold the CE Guide apparently.... very reminiscent of the Dark Souls Debacle. I bet some people are going to get left out of preorder bonuses again too. Amazon has been sucking something awful lately.
here is my night, in a nutshell:
(have the Skyrim preorder slip in my pocket)
T (my friend): let's hang out at Bar X.
Me: yes!
(drinking happens)
Me: oh by the way, we have to leave at midnight.
T: why?
Me: picking up a videogame.
T: ok! I'll go home and change, you pick up your game, and we'll drive to the party later.
Me: awesome!
(midnight)
Me: ok, see you in a bit!
Me: (gets to the Gamestop)
Me: (I see a line of literally 100? 200 people?)
Me, calling T: Uhh... let's just go to the party. I'll pick up the game later.
moral of the story? a midnight release is really a 11:30 release... at the latest. I will pick up Skyrim tomorrow, fuck it.
Good so far, but can't put much time into the game sadly.
Surprised my PC could handle the game on Ultra..... should have purchased for PC instead of PS3. Might be trading it back in lol
30% download. I should have pre downloaded![]()
So I just picked up my physical copy of skyrim from gamestop (PC version) and there are 3 CD Key stickers ontop of each other. As far as I knew there wasn't any extra content... I'm assuming (Guessing/hoping) that these are actual skyrim keys I could give to my friends. Anyone else who picked up their copy was there 1 key sticker or multiple ones?
Courier website just went down, amazon now tells me that the game went back in time, and was transported from the delivery van, to mainland england, 2 days ago.
This directx shit is taking WAY TOO LONG
got my first dragon ability, doing archery/sneak spec. lv6 now.
Bout 3 hours in, so far so AWESOME. A game of this size is going to have some rough edges, but out of the box it seems a lot more stable than oblivion was. Besides some niggling graphical bugs (two I've found are switching to the skill menu and back to game real fast repeatedly seems to skew the graphics, as does Alt+Tabbing on PC. Both require a restart to fix), the combat is awesome, being able to hotkey all of your stuff and requip on the fly lets you do so much shit.
Frankly it's forgivable, because when you climb noobie mountain for that first quest, and get hit by a blinding snowstorm.... I got kind of awestruck. This is like Oblivion: Colorado, with an all new adventure and all the community HD graphics mods installed.
Combat still feels like Strafe+Mouse=win, but its smoother. And there's critical hits where you get to mutilate your foe God of War style.
And the quick-menu is awesome. Being able to fluidly change weapons all the time is pretty cool, and my char is getting pretty diverse. You can armor buff yourself, then pull out a bow and snipe the first guy, take out sword-offhand flames and roast the second guy BBQ-mesquite before stabbing him through the chest, then pull out offhand axe and dual wield like a crazy animal on guy three. You pause whenever you open your quick inventory, so you really do have like 8 different ways of killing someone at any given time.
3 hours in and my thumbs are still way up. I'm probably going to shit my pants against the first dragon
Double Double
Completely pissed off i can't remap controls to my logitec controller. Did the original xbox 360 systems come with a pc connector cable for the controllers?
where does your horse go if it's not at the place where you parked it.
If you alt tab out of the game, alt tab once to bring up a black window, then cycle thru it again to the skyrim window and it will return to full screen and bring the game back up.
360 controllers were just a standard USB port, but I'm pretty sure Microsoft doesn't make the wired ones anymore. You can go to Best Buy or whatever and pick up an Afterglow 360 controller for like 30 bucks or something, it's build quality is just as good as the official ones.
Changes to stealth mechanics in this game are great. It's not as involved as something like MGS, but having NPCs hunt around for you when you snipe somebody from a distance is a nice touch, instead of the Oblivion route where they just stood there staring into the distance or were magically able to instantly spot you.
FPS seems to drop a little bit when I'm indoors (just eye balling it, don't actually have something to tell) but outside everything seems smooth. Is it like that for anyone else?
Interface/controls are like grinding my dick on a cheese grater. Am I alone here?
