Did you just start on the 11th!? Holy balls that was quick...

I've had it since it was leaked for 360 a week ago, and I'm at level 39. To this point, it's still 1 perk per level.

I don't feel fearful of leveling like I did in Oblivion -- it feels like it should (namely, a reward). Although, I usually try to get 3-4 purchased skillups in hard to level fields each level. As well, you fully heal when you level up and go to the menu, which I've used often as a backup panacea in the midst of a tough battle.

I feel like the scaling is appropriate, and so long as you keep up with your skills (and I heavily use Alchemy/Smithing/Enchanting as well) and your gear, you don't need to be afraid of hitting a wall where mobs are too strong.

Did anyone do the quest in Falkreath where the guy gives you a ring, and turns into a werewolf? He told me to go kill the "Great Beast" in the woods nearby, but I can't find it, any idea where it is?

Also near Falkreath I found a Black Door that talks, and asked me what the Music of Life was, none of the options I had were the correct answer.

I'm pretty sure the "three goons" and "assassination attempt" are scripted events. I've never stolen a thing and they came after me as well.

    Some more pro-tips:

-You can quickly level Smithing, and by extension your character, by punching out Iron daggers (Iron ingot+Leather strip) and leather bracers(leather + 2leather strip), both recipes require very little material, and leather is extremely easy to source. As mobs level you will get multiple leathers from one hide, making this an instant-exp button.

-Quickly level Sneak by autorunning into a wall in the vicinity of an enemy encampment/sleeping person

-Archery and Sneak are extremely powerful together, but really is there a Bethesda game where these two aren't OP? Be a man and get dirty.

-Go find or craft your uber items. Stores rarely sell anything decent, and you will pay out the ying-yang for anything they do.

-If you're going to use charged weapons, use Soul trap liberally so you can keep your weapon charged. The Court Mage in Whiterun sells a book of soul trap: 60 second duration. More than anyone ever needs.

I'm not sure if the mages offer to recharge your empty weapons, but I'm positive that if they can, they will pillage your wallet for it. Just soul trap some mudcrabs every so often and you'll be fine

Aside from the heavy armor perk to increase unarmed damage, is there any other way to increase the damage from it or make it more useful? I'm not sure if the One-handed perks apply to it, or even dual wield perks. (Using a Khajiit for the bonus already).

Is there a way to lock on that I'm just not seeing somewhere? Swinging wildly is sort of lame.

One of my friends said he found a pair of pugilist gloves that give a 10% bonus to unarmed damage, but other then that I think it's just the Khajiit + Heavy Armor perk. I'm doing the same thing, though I'm also hoping to get some good alteration spells to throw into the mix. My goal is to try to punch everything to death, and so far just killed my 2nd dragon doing so lol.

I was trying unarmed on master difficulty, and it's pretty unforgiving (well, being poisoned is, anyways). I don't really see what increasing the difficulty does aside from making monsters tanky as hell, as well as making them do absurds amount of damage. I haven't noticed any AI, skill gain, or quality/quantity of loot differences.

I recommend the Oakflesh-line. The most current one will cut the current melee damage you take by over half.

With no dedicated unarmed tree I'm probably not going to try it, even with the heavy armor gauntlet defense->attack perk

Does anyone know if you can save the guy who gets executed in Solitude? He has an Amulet I can take off him that's rather nice, but I think saving him would open more stuff.

i started doing some alchemy once i finished all the materials i had for blacksmithing.

with alchemy you can eat each ingredient to find an effect that it has, can you find multiple effects this same way?

i ate one of each ingredient to find a single effect, and it gave me one 100% of the time for the 1st effect per ingredient. Can you find the other 3 effects using the same method? i tried to eat the same ingredient i had unlocked an effect for, and it didn't show me a new one, just left it at one unlocked with the other 3 still as ???'s

simply put i want to know if you can discover all 4 effects of a particular ingredient simply by eating it, and is it efficient? don't want to waste alot of materials.

What are the advantages of getting the pirated version of this game? I was just gonna wait til price drops a bit. I got my hardcover guide and I have been just educating myself about it since I've never played any of the previous Elder Scrolls.

Price will likely only drop $10 over the next year or so...not really worth waiting. And why would you worry about the price if you spent money on a guide...?

I've got my hands full with other games atm, so I just thought there might be some good deals on Black Friday/Cyber Monday. The Prima guide was totally worth it though.. so much info, although the online map is kinda buggy (at least for me)

I actually didn't know you could do this. Tried many times on one unknown ingredient. It seems you can get one effect tops as a noob alchemist, but I think there's a tree perk that improves this.. But that's all, the rest have to be learned through combos.

You should just combine 3 ingredients and see what happens, there's always a potential chance you pick 3 similar unknown ingredients and hit an effect jackpot. And once you get a decent library of effects going you can tailor some of the alchemy loot to suit your battle style or make more money, which is really the point of taking it up anyway. You're gonna need that library for later, get started early.

Also, it's actually better that you end up with zany useless potions like "Poison that deals 15 damage to enemy, increase his magicka regen 33%,turn him invisible for 5 seconds", because the way to cash when selling your grinding results to vendors is through many-effects or power-effects, and you won't be making too many powerful potions early. Average price for random alchemy results, with no alchemy perks, ranges from 10-30 gold per potion, with some potions you're gonna keep and some that will sell for more/less.

It's not a bad way to make a bit of money, considering how much stuff you can find and how broken the endgame potions can be if you put perks in.

Specifically, you're looking Slow or Paralyze, those poisons are great. Paralyze is amazingly good - full stagger for the duration for free beats, and 50% slow for 20-30 seconds is a common result, letting you strafe dance opponents. I'm pretty sure boss mobs would have an immunity.

You can also poison arrows, for all the stealth thieves out there.
