Pickpocketing has a carry limit +100 perk iirc, can also enchant items with carry limit+ enchant (I found a necklace on some guy with +25 carry limit). Other than that I think leveling up slowly increases it, maybe every 5 levels or so? Mine keeps going up by itself every so often. Also had an awesome glitch earlier, half the terrain outside the Companions building didn't load, I could just walk around underneath the Skyforge. Apparently there's a hidden chest inside the terrain that the NPC uses to store his items and gold for the shop, and it let me loot it (didn't count as a crime), got a ton of free shit and over 1k gold from it, lol.

Stamina helps with your carry limit i think..may be wrong.

There is also a stone you can use. The steed stone I think it is. +100 carry weight and armor doesn't slow you down.

There is a Transmute Ore tome there that allows you to turn iron ore >> silver ore >> gold ore.

I have that spell. It's from a camp just Northwest of Whiterun iirc. It's got bandits inside and a miniboss. You can either drop in the hole to go straight to the boss and work your way out or go in from the front and work your way down to the boss.

If you ask a helper NPC to come with you you can speak to them and give them items to hold for you.

loving it so far.

- rune spells are awesome. casting one and recharging mp before heading into battle is a great way to save mp. sucks that you can only place one, though (unless I'm missing something).
- dual casting rocks. the only spells I single cast are conjuration, since my summons usually die before they run out of time anyway, so it would be a waste of mp to dual cast them.
- perks are fun. the leveling system in general is great. definitely like it.
- dymamic snow is amazing. it's not perfect - sometimes the rocks look like they were painted with whitewash - but for the most part it's an impressive feature that adds a lot of realism. hell, the weather in general is impressive. they nailed the way snow drifts and swirls during a blizzard.
- thank god for the lockpicking change. I can actually pick master locks with only a few picks now. could never even attempt them in Oblivion.
- mage equipment. this is a thing now. no wimpy "+3 willpower" or shit like that; straight up fat magicka and magicka regeneration bonuses. makes playing a pure mage with no armor much more viable.
- puzzles in ruins! as long as they stay simple, I'm for it. although they better not get too complex; I'll play Professor Layton if I want to bend my brain thanks.
- I feel like I'm leveling up extremely fast... 10 hours in and an hour per level or so? sometimes faster if I'm focused on dungeon diving. but I'm ok with that; I'm already looking forward to starting over with a new character and trying out some new things.

right now I'm running destruction, conjuration, restoration and lockpicking. I might pick up alchemy but I don't like the randomness of trying ingredients - that's one small area where I liked Oblivion better. that and the ruins... even though the Ayleid ruins were more generic fantasy stuff I loved their creep factor and always ended up collecting Welkynd stones as a hobby during Oblivion runs (they look so nice in display cases). Dwemer ruins are interesting but not as cool and I don't see any shiny things to collect aside from scrap to sell.

If your helper dies, do the items stay on the body? I've had my helper come close to dying a few times because they decided to rush 2 mages churning out fireballs.

Yeah, you can loot your partner's body when they die. I had Illia (sp?) from the witch tower helping me out for a while until she got slaughtered by some Draugr Wright Lord and I looted my items back along with a key to her room.

So just was fighting a giant when a dragon swoops around and lands. Dragon breaths fire on giant then second giant aggros along with 2 mastadons. Giants and mastadons beat the shit out of the dragon without me touching it and I get its soul anyway. Pretty fun.

yup had this happen twice also had a necromancer do 25% to it before getting bitch flung into the air and i've had the whiterum guard in Rorikstead "help" while killing the 3rd named dragon (killed him before he even came back to life)

Potentially silly question, as my searching fails.
I understand that there is a certain level scaling, but assuming that I stay at level 10, can I take everything to 100 for combat benefits, but keeping the mobs at low size, getting benefits that way? or does it count each level I have gotten in pure numbers, but haven't actually triggered anyway?

Giants just aren't aggressive unless you go really close to them or their mammoths. If you go close to them they'll start waving their arms around trying to intimidate you but if you don't go closer at that point they won't attack.

I was approaching a group earlier, the first I had seen, and the FIRST thing I see is one of them slamming its hammer down on a Sabre Cat that was nearby and the cat basically just rocketing into space from the hit. It was exactly like the video someone posted earlier of it happening to a player only it was not me XD. It was funny as shit. I will be leaving them alone...

Yeah, the very first time I encountered a giant camp, I saved it and thought maybe I could take some out with critical arrow hits (at like Lv8 lol). I was amazed at how little his HP moved from an arrow in the back of the head, then I was even more amazed at how fucking fast he ran up to me... then I was the most amazed at his single upwards club slam rocketing me into the stratosphere. The game started reloading before my trajectory even peaked. I was really hoping to see where I would land.

So this may be a silly question, but i travel quite a bit for work, but when i'm home, i'll want to play on my desktop for sure, I should be able to just grab the save and dump it in the same folder and be good right?

I did the Golden Claw quest and couldn't loot from the Overlord Draugr's corpse. It just so happens that he has an item for the main quest; I'm assuming I'm fucked and will need to restart. Fuck.
