Anyone figured out a way to level blocking/heavy armor efficiently? I've tried everything i can think of, even up to turning on god mode and letting dragons and giants whack at my skull for 20 minutes and i won't get a single skillup.
Any advice for a 2handed heavy armor wielding orc when facing mages? They seem to just destroy me before I can close in on them, that goddamn frost spell they use cuts me down like 40% of my hp and strafing back and forth while closing in only prevents maybe 2 out of the 6 spells thrown at me. Running low on hp potions ;_;
Did you werewolf him in the face? I know I read that if you go werewolf form you cant loot bodies you kill.I did the Golden Claw quest and couldn't loot from the Overlord Draugr's corpse. It just so happens that he has an item for the main quest; I'm assuming I'm fucked and will need to restart. Fuck.
if your not leveling your smithing skill there are mine keepers that buy ores off you so hold on to them they give you a better deal then the npc's do
just got smithing to lv 100 made the full dragonplate armor looks bitchin but not skill for full set (deadric seems to be the best armor but need hearts to make them)
So the dragon bones and scales you get off dragons aren't used for dragonsmithing later in the game?
Question: I had my follower (forgot her name) assistant, and then did a quest that replaced her, but I never got her back when I finished the quest. Any ideas ;_;?
There was another (unnamed) dragon after the initial quest dragon flying around the west tower in Whiterun after I finished a quest. I go over and help the guards kill this new one and this giant is standing there watching the whole time. As soon as I land the killing blow on the dragon this giant flips shit like he saw his sister giving me a hot carl and just fucks up my npc and then me in short order.
I thought it was a fluke so when I reload I run back over to the west tower and once again a giant passively watches me, my npc, and the Whiterun guards take the dragon down. This time while he went to one shot my npc I ran inside the tower and just kept dinging him with arrows while he kept running into the tiny doorway too big to fit inside or reach me. I got a grip of archery skillups on that guy and like 200 gold and an enchanted orcish warhammer fuckyear.
Like many I have used some skill points I really have no use for. I was thinking about restarting and I was wondering if anyone has tried something like a battle mage type character. With the disenchanting I could pull off the magic boosts from cloth armor and put it on light or heavy and be a mage with possibly heavy armor. Has anyone tried this yet? Any experiences you can share?
Has anyone found the Dragon Priests? I've found Krosis and Nahkriin i want mo masks
Is there a reason not to level every skill? Like is there a total skill point cap where investing in multiple styles/magics/crafts is a bad thing?
Is there something I'm missing the lockpicking in Skyrim is much harder than it is in Oblivion. In fact it's a fucking guessing game for the higher locks, you have to sit there and guess and pray the pick doesn't break, the higher the lock the smaller the window so it just becomes harder to find.
I remember in Oblivion I could easily unlock high level locks because I got good at the lockpick minigame, but this one is just fucking guesswork and it's stupid.
I just finished writing a python script to find the best combinations for Alchemy recipes, it's up here at github, you'll need Python to run it but it's pretty nice for using those ingredients you have lying around. For example I'm running it for ingredients to find the potions with the 'most effects' so I can discover the most effects from the ingredient upon creating the potion. Probably extend it a bit to allow you to filter based on an effect eventually.
