I keep getting sidetracked from the Main Quest Line... imagine that! Currently roaming all over the world doing the 'Extra Work' Thief Quests. I am just taking carriages to cities I haven't been to and ingnoring all sidequest NPCs in those cities. Once I have the City Influence shit opened up I will actually explore those places. For now though I am just trying to get my 5 quests completed in each city for the Thieves Guild.

As far as Dragons go I have fought three so far? Whiterun dragon of course, and then one on my way up to the Peak to talk to the Greybeards and then one on my way to Riften. I found it interesting that I found a Blood Dragon on my way to Riften, it wasted me, and when I loaded my save not far from there and ran back it was just a normal dragon that spawned that time. Dragged it back to Ivarstead and the NPCs helped me kill it super fast.

How much money did this take you? Also, at what point could you stop using bribe and just do persuade? Speech is definitely what I've been having the hardest time leveling, so powering through this is definitely what I'll be doing after work today~

You should be able to pass the persuade after 27 speech or so. I had no trouble with it when I found out about it, but I can't remember my level.

Just had a wicked random encounter(s). Huge battle with me, my companion, and 3 gaurds, fighting 4-5 bandits, some cultist, a giant, and a frost dragon. As the battle started the giant and the dragon were beating the crap out of each other, and after everything was dead, a second dragon swooped in and finished off two of the gaurds. Found myself in the middle of all this after a quicktravel to a tower just to get closer to a quest objective. Love this game.

Okay, I'm about halfway through maxing enchanting and 96 smithing, and I've got to say that enchanting has way more potential utility. Oh Smithing's great, to be sure - doubling your damage and armor is awesome, and it actually costs very little to power through 50 iron daggers (At 90+ this is about 10-12 daggers/level. At 30+, this is like fifteen-smithing-levels-in-a-can, cheaper overall than any training)

But to make the really disgusting pieces, hats off to enchanting. Enchanting is free magic items, and if you max the tree, theyre all equal-to or better than any quest item or vendor.

To Enchanters: Go to the Shrine of Azura ASAP. I played oblivion - Azura quest is Mission: Critical

To Melees: Protip, make some shitty rings and necklaces, silver will do, and enchant a Resist Fire/Frost/Shock setup out of just jewelery.

Obviously you can make better ones once you level, the point is you have a relatively cheap plus 15-30+% resist setup that weighs as little as it has to, so you can carry it everywhere. Now you have an extra magic resistance against mages on top of whatever potions you can find. Remember - armor goes completely out the window against magic, so a good resist setup is critical against the boss mages.

Necklace+ring for all three elements is about 2 Inventory space. Peanuts. Take advantage of the alphabetical order of your inventory br renaming your creations, so you don't have to go digging all the time for your setup. "AASilver Ring of Frost" will appear at the top every time.

Why not resist all%? Consistently lower protection than specializing against an element.

to anyone thinking of doing the College of Winterhold (mage's guild) questline, get a shock resist setup. you can steal some shock resist boots from the archmage's quarters, and you can forge or find the rest. just... trust me on this.

Honestly, some of the stories you get while wandering in this random world are better than any story quest. Dragon Age: Origins was like "Hey we got sandboxes, non-linear gameplay, exploration, and Tolkien!" and that was Game of the Year. Great game by the way. But that's all nothing compared to an Elder Scrolls game. Applying that line to the two games side by side is like a bad joke.

Where do you get this Dagger and also would the bladesman perk with a Sword be better for more crit rate?

I checked my map, I think it's Moss Mother Cavern, but I can't remember. That place is west of The Lover stone, if you're wondering.

Technically, you're right. The dagger is 25% crit, which is awesome, but with three perks any sword can be 30%. It's just the dagger didn't cost me any perks, the latent crit on it boosts the damage to a respectable level (with a good sharpening) and it attacks blistering fast.

On the downside you can't enchant it, so 25% crit is all it does. This is no big deal for me, my offhand is a Dwarven Axe of Reaping, a stamina steal weapon. It's enough to DW attack almost non-stop, but if I had perks to spare the sword route would probably be more damage in the long run, and a health steal weapon would be awesome.

Is it normal for dragons to respawn? I had that dragon near my double-dragon encounter show up again... now the Frost Dragon I killed a long time ago at Shearpoint (next to Krosis) was up again. Is this a glitch and I'm getting an infinite flow of Dragon Souls or just the normal way to unlock shouts?

Dragons definitely infinitely spawn/respawn, I've killed at least 30 of them at this point outside of scripted/shrine dragons, some at the same area twice.

Re health steal weapons:

Blade of Woe is pretty slick in this regard, you get it around the middle of the Dark Brotherhood quest line. It won't do as much damage as an ebony/daedric Sword or Axe, but if you have that sort of weapon you can just disenchant it and slap the enchantment on the new weapon.

I started with persuade and did not bribe at all. Each bribe was under 100g each.

A bit late, but those Fists of the Pugilist gloves mentioned a few pages back can be found on that aggressive Gian the Fist NPC in The Ratway (in Riften).

Shor's stone is a hamlet almost directly in between Riften and Windhelm. You could draw a line through all 3. If you follow the path out of Riften to windhelm, you'll encounter Shor's Stone north of Fort Greenwall

Hold the button that swaps to third person mode and then use one of the analogues I think.

Is there any console command or something to turn friendly fire off? I kind of like the help of guest NPC's but when they get in your fucking way constantly only to get killed by your attack is so aggravating. It's like I'm stuck in Groundhog's Day reliving the same encounter over and over every reload until I do it right in a way that doesn't kill my idiot NPC.
